    I was going to do this repair on my 2017 Acadia but I didn't have to !!
    Try removing the negative lead on your battery for a few moments first.
    It cured mine and it hasn't come back yet. It can't hurt to try.
    Good luck.

      you reset the ecm. Buy a Fixd and you can reset it with that. It will happen again.

      @@cmichael40 Thank you, Friend. Will that reset it permanently ?

      I just removed the negative like you said, the steering assist went away. I thank you so much for the advice and tips.

      @@reginaldhailey8188 You're welcome, Bro. I'm glad it helped you. Just so you know, you may have to do it once in a while, but hopefully not.....

      They just don't make cars like they. You have to take the whole manifold apart just to change your thermostat. That is absolutely ridiculous but I paid $1000 to fix it. I had just Paid off my car. One month ago.

    Thank you for this!! Just happened on my 2018 Acadia this AM and all the forums I scoured were just throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what stuck 😅👍🏼

      I hardly find the forums useful These days.
      Example: DTC P106B for TOYOTA SEQUOIA/ TUNDRA/TACOMA/LANDCRUISER & Lexus LX.
      All forums I studied led to nothing but confusion.

    My AC is shakey once I started to get this error - I will try to remove negative terminal for a few minutes and then connect it to see if that solves the problem if not I’m going to dealership 😫

      It temporarily fixes the problem, you can clear the codes and everything will start functioning as designed again but not for Long.
      Once the faults are repeated, the serial Data Can will complete the task and have the powertrain modules illuminate the MIL light again.

    What's the normal temperature reading on dash? Mine was reading 180.

    Is this the cause of the AC not working and the remote start not working?

    • @barakzai90
      @barakzai90  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes.
      When the coolant issue is taken care of, the AC will start working again

    So called engineers are told by the board members they need bigger yachts.

      You aren't wrong 🤣🤣.
      I was replacing the Water pump on my own BMW X5 4.4l V8 today and I must say that, there's no reason why it must be designed without zero second thoughts for when things go wrong.
      Absolutely nuts.. maybe they are high on something when they're getting things approved for Mass production

    Would this also cause a fan to come on?

    • @barakzai90
      @barakzai90  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's correct. It will often command the fan to operate at maximum speed.

      You got the parts replaced or just cleared the dtcs?
      Note: the 4 Gen High-feature 3.6 L Engine does not like most after Market parts.
      Replace only with OEM especially critical sensors like ECT sensors.
      let me know

    Perfect exemple on how a stupid engineer can design a complex solution for a simple scenario. I see more and more this type of stupidity with Ferrari, Harley, Buick and now, even GM... Look at the amount of work this mechanic has to put in place, just to replace a sensor and thermostat... UNBELIEVABLE.

    P0128. Most likely a failed thermostat. But hey, tear your engine apart for fun.

    • @barakzai90
      @barakzai90  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The thermostat is good per GM service bulletin. The power steering electric motor reads the temperature value from the coolant temperature sensor depending on the outside temperature. If the outside temperature is cold, the grease in the electric motor is more likely cold as well, So the electric steering control unit commands the motor to operate at a higher output in order to provide steering comfort for the driver. When the coolant temperature sensor sends a negative value to the control unit, It confuses the computer which results in loss of air conditioning as well as a check engine light that comes on.
      Since the fuel rail removal is required to replace the sensor, It is recommended to replace both the temperature sensor as well as the thermostat because, to get to the coolant temperature sensor, the housing for the thermostat must be removed which leads to coolant getting inside the cylinders in that increases the risk of premature piston ring wear.

    • @barakzai90
      @barakzai90  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Read the technical service bulletin and you will find out for yourself

      @bobcook8576 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      And that's why gm techs were originally replacing electric racks right? You already have it torn apart. Why wouldn't you change the thermostat? Coolant spillage? That's kind of like not replacing a blower motor when you tear a dash apart to replace ac parts.
