Many people in life think their job, religion or family are the most important things in life. Instead of spreading their wings and doing what they actually personally desire doing. As long as it is not dishonest or illegal. Pity many get burnout these days. Think it is corporate jobs, boring meetings, phoning and computer work. So much more to life.
I seriously feel like I've lost my groove and this is just what I needed! I feel as though I've lost my groove in my daily life, family life, etc. I haven't worked out in 2 months, I haven't done Yoga or meditation for a month, and my eating habits are all over the place. I just love your videos! They help so much sometimes and just remind me to look after myself xoxo
What is altering the shape of the brain is the untreated stress, anxiety, and depression that comes with the burnout, but anxiety and depression can be due to other reasons too so if someone is experiencing one of these [or both] it is time to do something serious about it!! get some professional help or make a big lifestyle changes
every time I watch your video, I have my journal ready because of all these good quotes from your readings! Your videos are unlike anyone elses I subscribe to, they really do have a purpose and are always beneficial. (binge watching) your videos has honestly been my first step to loving myself because you've provided a mediuim that I am comfortable with. Thank you Rowena, you honestly have no idea how much you have impacted my life I wish we could be friends. Will always continue to support you, and girl don't even worry about not posting a lot
I burnt out yesterday on the floor of my living room. I punched someone in the face and had a breakdown. Cried, screamed, banged my head against the floor. I wanted to die, I went over everything in my life. I couldn’t find a damn thing to live for besides my sister and you. I thought of your quotes and spirituality. How good a person you are, how caring. As my sister cried and screamed for me to Get up up off the floor, to stop banging my head. I did it. I never thought I would have the strength to do so but I got up and I took my sister into my arms and I told her I was sorry. I have and ED and it’s truly been weighing on my heart, my family is cruel and unimaginable. My life feels likes it burning down but I know as of this moment “I’m in a chapter in my life where god is making me strong before he makes me happy.”
This is really really interesting and explains so much. Three hours a day is such a long time if you have a eight hour work day, plus maybe an hour commute each way, plus an hour or so for chores every day...plus several more hours work if you have children or other caring responsibilities...we've basically created a working pattern that makes it incredibly difficult to avoid burnout.
I’m finishing up my first year of grad school and have been struggling more than I realized with burnout. Unintentionally, I took a complete break from all the work that was stressing me out and I just haven’t felt this relaxed and HAPPY in this long. Your video triggered the this realization for me! Couldn’t have come at a better time!
So relatable! My before and after work routines are I must do this, do that, always against the clock, not getting enough sleep or not having enough fun after work and chores. That's how burnout happens. So sometimes, I just put on my favorite tunes and dance my frustrations out. This weekend, my boyfriend and I watched both Guardians of the Galaxy movies, ate well and enjoyed each other's company, recharged our batteries before the work week ahead. Still, I was so tired, that I had to take Monday off. Our bodies always flag us when we need to chill and take extra care of ourselves and I plan on not ignoring those flags in the future. Thank you so much, Rowena, for your wise insights on this matter. 💯💜
Rowena... i've been follwing you for such a long time now. i can remmeber when your channel was quite small and it is so great to see your channel grow ! honestly you deserve so much more attention on this plattform! you always give such good advices and oftentimes when i feel lost and burned out from life i just hop to your channel and there's always the right video for me to watch. you are just so supportive and your advices are awesome. i wanna thank you from the bottom of my heart for being here. creating such meaningful content. helping people and showing that we're not weak and that it's okay to feel lost sometimes, that is is okay to feel burned out but also showing that there is a way out of it! thank you so much for another great video which couldn't have come at a better time of my life. I just quitted my job to focus completetly on university and im worried about paying bills and stuff, not losing my apartment and so on, but i'm sure that i will find my way to happiness again. thank you and have a lovely day !
Hi Rowena! Just wanted to leave some thoughts. I think it’s interesting that you and probably a lot of people don’t realize that the stress we put ourselves through is physically hurting your brain. I’ve been aware of this since I was little because I’ve always had chronic migraines so I literally feel the pain my brain felt when I am stressed, dehydrated, sleep deprived, all of it. It’s scary and I get upset with myself that I let myself get stressed or whatever, but then I’m just adding more stress and it’s a never ending cycle. Anyways, I’ve been working on it. I used to have migraines about 5 times a week, now it’s about once a week. I really enjoy your content and videos Rowena. Thanks for giving us the information you read about and hear. You’re really helping people and yourself which is amazing
I got home from my business class which is basically a crash course in business management + launching my business, I was feeling deflated and burnt out. This came at the best time and though I knew how to get out of it or prevent it, I needed that push that came in the form of this video at the top of my home page. I'm glad you're feeling a lot better and you look amazingly happy and bright. It made me feel better. ❤
AHHHH the thing about not over-overcompensating just hit me right home- i grew up being an overachiever and i'm now struggling with acads because i'm not used to seeing low to average grades :( thank you rowena for helping me slow down and think about life and what should i be doing (despite mine being in a huge academic whirlwind rn) 💖
When I watch her videos it honestly makes me feel more enlightened and I get super addicted and motivated to change bad habits and overall become a better me thank you! ☺️
Thank you for this video. This just confirmed my thoughts and feelings on burnout and feeling constantly tired and sad. I have started incorporating yoga and meditation into my life. I have been doing this for 2 weeks now and it is amazing. It allows me to find time for myself and I actually look forward to it everyday. We can all get out of these situations but we must find our own solutions since everyone is different and require a different approach to the problem.
The tip you mentioned (right after sharing a story about your grandfather) in regards to prioritizing what's in the present moment and those things that you are able to control really speaks to me and is also quite relevant in my case. I have severe anxiety and I overthink a lot about what happened, what's happening, and what's about to happen. I've been dealing with a ton of personal and family issues recently that it's been difficult to stay present and focus on the things that are important to me. Thank you for this 💖 First time commenting on a video of yours, I've been subscribed to your channel for almost a year now. Love you ☺❤ Greetings from the Philippines 🇵🇭
Rowena, you’re such a beautiful person, inside and out. Keep going. Is it possible for you to make a video or even a little instagram something about making time for yourself practically? I’m a sophomore in high school, but I’m homeschooled and always around other people, so I find it very hard to make time for myself without neglecting my school or family responsibilities. I’m beginning to feel burnt out and disconnected, so I would love some tips on small, practical ways to spend time for myself. Thanks for doing what you do, love you!
I have my notifications on so I can see when you post. You have changed the way I think sooooo much. You have shown me how to love more of myself and have more confidence in my knowledge. Thank you so much for being such an amazing human 💜 I know life can throw you some hard balls but you always come it if then with something so inspirations. Please never stop being who you are it is truly amazing 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
I just want to say thank you - I usually don’t comment on videos but I just need to say thank you for all your work and for just being a lovely human being. ❤️
Idk if you’ve made this video already, but can you make one about when you have so much to do that you get so overwhelmed and stressed that you end up not knowing where to start or not even doing anything?
This video appears in my feed just when I needed the most! Funny how the universe works right? :") Thank you Rowena for being such a live saver for me, again and again :")
When you said you tend to prioritize your work over anything else I had to think about how I think even folding laundry or sitting down for a proper meal takes too much time when I'm busy with University :'D
Thank you so so much for posting this video on burnout ! You inspired me a lot and is kind of like that book to you to me (does that make sense ? Lol) blessings to you abd thank youuuuu!
So it is you! You looked so familiar and I thought maybe you were from wishtrend but I really didn’t know for sure, but now I know lol. So glad I found your channel, I’ve only watched 2 videos and there’s already been a positive change in the way I view myself.
Hey, I just had a quick question, why do some people in Taiwan wear face masks when they go out in public? Thank you also, Rowena, for all the amazing books I have read/listened to, a lot of them have come at the right time for me. Especially the bullet journal method with my school work.
The thing you are describing is different from what medical practitioners call burnout. This is a nice video about creating margins in life, but *Burnout is not tiredness from overwork. It is an experience that comes from trauma- most likely job trauma.* If one finds that their workplace or industry has a culture that they cannot get behind, or if they experience something that they don't have the capacity to handle, they get burnout. People in jobs like social service, government service, police and fire fighters experience this often. I am not diminishing the need for developing a culture of rest, but true burnout is much deeper than this from my research into it. According to burnout specialists _If you can get over burnout by sleeping in on the weekend, then you are not really suffering from burnout, but from a normal human need to rest._ the average length of true burnout lasts two years.
As much as I enjoy your videos, I would never want you to put these videos before your family. Please never feel bad if it goes a bit longer than you'd like to before you post a video. We are totally okay with that, we want you to be happy and spend time with people around you!
Hi Rowena can you make a video what you wish if you go bake to college now with that person growth do you'll choice other major if yes what will be and why that interest you
You definitely look visibly happier this week! Noticed right away before you said anything. Keep up the great work, Rowena! :)

i went through burnout last year but hearing you put it into words really made me understand what i was feeling and why i went through it!

Yes, I was thinking this too! Let's think of creative ways to make it work for us.
This could not have come at a better time! Thank you, Rowena!!!!! 💕💕✨

Exactly! I use work to numb my feelings & I tie my selfworth with my performance in work too which is something I'm still working on...
