Both Sarah and Zach delivered these lines beautifully... but are we just gonna ignore the "Find a new home" line?? Like??? C'mon, I can't be the only one hung up on that right?
Wasn't that already known, given the fact that they've been jumping from world to world for who knows how long now until they (at least your Traveler) got stranded in Teyvat.
@@SpecialSupportSection Not necessarily. While yes, it's easy to make that jump, it could also have been they were just genuinely curious about the world. The fact that it was confirmed they were looking for a new home opens a great many doors to formulating more accurate theories. Without that confirmation, we the players couldn't have been absolutely sure why they were making this long journey. We just jumped to own assumptions. My big yell about it is because that line could be the connection to Honkai, which has been a theory that's been bumbling through the genshin community for a while now.
Lumine's easier to see as "villainous" here definitely, but I don't think I mind Aether in the antagonist role either. Lumine seems more determined in her role and Aether seems more...anguished about what he knows. It's just a difference in emphasis, really, since neither of them seem like they're enjoying what they're doing. Lumine seems show more resolve for whatever it is they want to do after being wronged while Aether seems torn up about whatever happened and feels this is the only way to make things right. One more time for redundancy's sake: Aether: More anguish, less outward resolve Lumine: More resolve, less outward anguish
Agreed, I think the fact that Aether sounds more anguished, while Lumine sounds more cold and bent on revenge, really adds to their characters, and not simply paints them as male/female versions of each other. Both anguish and revenge makes a lot of sense given what they seem to have been through, so it works both ways
Jesus, people can’t enjoy these cutscenes and say that Aether sounds/looks cool as a antagonist without having to constantly hear “Well too bad because Aether is the canon mc and Lumine isn’t.” What difference does it make? Like bruh just let us enjoy the game.
it's probably because of the trailer and manga? because i initially chose lumine in genshin since im a girl, but then i read genshin manga and watched a lot of genshin trailers and thought that aether is the real MC, so i made another account and chose aether to relate more with the promotion content
No regrets picking Aether. Lumine's role as the antagonist is so good and Aether's facial expressions were so on point when he tried to reach out for her when she went into the portal. The right balance of confusion and denial.
me too. I first picked him because i preferred his outfit and long braided hair, but I also just love how when you pick him Lumine gets to be this amazing antagonist.
Same, she's perfect as an antagonist, she look like the real villain, if you choose lumine as traveler she always look at ppl and wary from them, while aether always more expressive, look at his surroundings, + their skill, lumine is more into attack while aether is more into defense, if she really become a villain in the end i think her attack skill would be suits her, and aether as a traveler having defense skill to protect people that he met in his journey, what if dain is a good dude, aether trust him more than lumine, in the end they fight, it's just a misunderstanding, the god from the prolog actually manipulated her memory making her thinking abyss need her help and justice, but actually abyss being controlled by this god, that's why dain fight them, before, he tried to protect but failed, omg what am i thinking
I’m not regretting i picked Lumine. Lumine sounds evil here and its almost like she was like that mych before the beginning. Aether didn’t sound evil and made me think he had he’s own reason for his action. Kinda more tragic and i liked that
I see people regret choosing Lumine but I don’t. She certainly has won my heart. When she made her sad face, my heart instantly broke. I still love both Lumine and Aether, but I would agree with you on Aether sounding tragic. I almost felt sympathy for him.
In my opinion, when you look at them as antagonists, Lumine's more cold and revengeful while Aether's more anguished and worn out. But when you look at them as the protagonists, Aether looks confused and distressed while Lumine looks stunned and grief-stricken.
Aether look better as the villain because he look like he hide a secret and can't say it and he must to do it while he's also a little sad while talking to his sister while Lumine just look like she joined the dark side and don't care about her Brother and everything
I just like that both twins are different. I don’t like when in media people think twins are mirrors of the same person. They’re not. I love that both siblings have different flavors in their delivery and either one we pick is beautifully crafted. I love this game.
Aether sounds almost sad, while Lumine sounds kinda demanding and forceful. Aethers's voice shakes a bit especially at the being as if he is honestly surprised we are teaming with Dainsleif, but Lumine sounds almost angry when she says "He is my enemy". Really do like the subtle differences, but probably no greater meaning to it. Also what kind of power does the sibling have, when they attacked Dainsleif a kind of black hole appeared.
It's a white glow. After the fight with childe you "()" Said that you are recollecting your power with the Statues, and since white glow was in the start cut scene, it can only mean all colours combined. The sibling has finished to restore her power with all 7 elements.
@@fa14bi-78 The white glow is definitely the same as the one from the intro scene but I don't think it's the power from the seven, since the sibling hates the gods they probably wouldn't use power given to them by the Archons. However what I was talking about was that black energy that appeared right at 0:20, doesn't look like any normal elemental power and kinda reminds me of Dainsleif's ability. Maybe it's an abyss related power.
Am I the only one who feel bad for dain, homeboy becomes immortal and then got blamed for something he himself probably didn't want💀 Edit: and I think it's not a good idea to enter that portal dain

This quest makes me think about the possibility of looped universe, in the end of journey later, we became the one who joined the abyss... Thus back to the past and fight the other half of the twins... Thus creating these 2 alternate scene with either lumine or aether, cz they looping each other, possibly because in the end they failed to safe the other half Just a theory tho..
Both Lukine and Aethers evil blades actually look different. What in the world. Also I love the difference between the twins in dialogue tone. Lumine is more vengeance towards an unjust fate. Aether is more depressed sadness of "I need to do this for our sakes." Kind of like an older brother making a hard choice for what he believes is good.
Lumine's VA sounds like a good generic villain, but you also gotta give props to Aether's VA as well. I think I like Aether being the villain rather the protagonist because he has his own character and well he freaking speaks. The Traveller is also cool but I don't agree with some of the dialogue choices in this scene for Aether. Edit: I should probably come back to this game because the story is really good. The Windblume Festival just burnt me out from grinding quests and playing the games.
To be honest , Lumine sounds bad as villain . Cold , angry and so negative towards her the most dearest person ever , her brother and this scene just showed her as typical “evil”villain who wants destroy everything. Cliche ,.Abyss aether on other point sounded more human and more broken, angered, sad with all of this and he finally saw his sister and he knows what will happen in future which makes his villain story much more emphasising.
As a guy I picked Lumine because I've mainly been playing as male characters in RPGs, so a female option felt like a nice change of pace (I also just like her design more than Aether's tbh). I soon found out that Mihoyo was promoting Aether as the "canon" protagonist, with Lumine as the canon villain. Obviously they would have to choose one of the two to stick with for promotional media, but I couldn't help but feel a bit of regret for choosing Lumine. Seeing this just made me remember that it doesn't really matter who you picked, you play as the "Traveler" anyway. So stop arguing over who is more canon, people!
Tbh for me, aether is cared about his sister but he seems more sad with his situation and really worn out with anger. While lumine seems more like, some girl that look like angry because she's holdinh her tear, and ppl see it as stoic, but she's actually not, also she looks really cared about her brother and want him to not get in her way because she's afraid to him to get hurt. (but also she want him to.know.the truth.? Im confused). Well, both of them did pretty good job and both of it really touching imo.
i really loved actually seeing aether as the "evil twin" here!! he sounds so much sadder and more tired, really shows us how much time he's spent traveling and uncovering the truth.
Lumine is the better villain here. She sounds so cold, distant and resolute yet warm and reassuring when talking to her brother. Aether makes a better MC in expressing pain. I'm saying this as someone who picked Lumine MC cos waifu but Lumine as abyss twin is the canon since Mihoyo likes to portray her as such in their trailers.
I kinda think that Abyss Lumine sounds like a bitch seriously, the best villain is the one who you can empathise for and that is Aether. Aether sounds sad, angry knowing the whole tragedy and still not being able to reunite with his sister and such tropes make better villains, while Lumine sounds like an evil bitch who wants to destroy this world and giving a cold shoulder to her brother , like literally “cliche evil villain in children’s stories” Tragic villain >>> evil villain
Lumine sounds so sure and full of resolve, unwavering determination aether sounds almost defeated when he speaks, like he's hurting but has to do this. Good job to both the VA's really embodying the characters
To be honest, I like Aether being a villain since I'm sucker with Big Brother tropes who went rogue or does everything to protect his family or siblings well maybe Zach also voiced Young Nier who has a little sister and does everything for her in order to save her (this ain't a spoiler since this is the synopsis of Replicant), but too bad, I chose Aether as my main from the beginning lol. 😂
I - I just can't right now. Seeing Aether's reaction when Lumine just ditched him... I literally _feel_ my heart breaking in two. It's been nearly a year since I experienced this for myself, but it still sets me in so much tears. I want to give my boy a big hug, a pat on the back, *something* to cheer him up. He didn't have to go through so much pain - _I_ didn't have to go through that much pain. Why must you do this to me, Meloo?
I'm glad I chose Lumine honestly. Lumine does sound cool as a villain but she talks like she doesn't even care we're there, while Aether seems like he must to do this even though he doesn't want to. And I mean, we're supposed to empathize with our sibling, so I prefer abyss Aether for that.
Lumine really sounds like she wants revenge, while Aether sounds like some sort of Anti-Hero It fits their characters, and it's a nice touch Reminds me of the whole "The god took away my sister/brother" line during the prologue
@@InactiveTwig No actually, it's the opposite. Lumine was meant to be the true antagonist before they added her as a playable MC later in the development. The true canon story is where Aether is the protagonist.
@@InactiveTwig see the thing about that is.... you do know that Mihoyo past games protagonist have always been female right? that change for this game. Either they've grown tired of female MCs or something else in total. We'll never know the only thing that we know is that they change their usual course for this game which some may found not fair cause apparently in some people's eyes "Mihoyo is trying to cancel women" and some other people pov it's a good choice and a great change for once in awhile.
Aether's voice was soft, sorrow, disbelief and some how feel like he was trying to hide some kind of pain. Lumie's in another hand has a lot of rage and cold in it. So in conclusion. Dain was Aether's ex-best bro, they fell apart. Or Lumie's ex... he dumped her?
It's weird, but I felt different kinds of emotions depending on which twin we choose as our main character during this scene, for some reason. When playing as Aether, it gives *An older brother who failed to guide his younger sister into the right path* kind of vibes. Meanwhile, while playing as Lumine it felt like *a conflicted girl that can't choose between following her older brother like she always do, or to defy him.*
Everybody saying Lumine kills it as the villain sibling in this scene, but I'm still glad I chose Lumine as the protag just because I love her character design so much and would prefer seeing her in cutscenes over Aether (not that I dislike Aether's design either)
At 2:50 aether ever so slightly tilts his head to the side whereas lumine doesn’t. It’s not much and the actions themselves aren’t drastically different but it’s the small details that shows that aether is the “softer” one and lumine the “colder” one.
I don't regret picking Lumine. Sure Lumine sounds evil as the antagonist while Aether sounds like his tired but, if you look at the character you chose you'll see the difference. Aether was a good protagonist, but he looks slightly worn out, he is not determined to find his sister while Lumine, looks determined and will keep fighting to find her brother and save him instead. What makes this more tragic is that if you pick Aether and gone up to this scene, you'll feel that they are both tired of themselves, like there was no point on trying to find his sister, it feels like he already given up find his sister since the beginning but, when you choose Lumine, it makes it more tragic, Lumine being determined to save her brother while Aether, being the "Antagonist" here, feels like he wants to go back home with his sister but can't cause of some unfinished job, like he is being forced. The plot is more good for me picking Lumine.
Really want hear cn cv of Lumine as the princess of abyss.. because I've heard Aether as the prince of abyss since I chose Lumine. And cn cv of Aether already made me like him like other characters. It just felt like he's not a character I can choose to get, but a character you need to wish to get 😂 The “villain” does fit him more in cn cv for me, he sound so cool and calm like he know everything, like he really have gone through something and still cares about Lumine even though he's on the abyss side (still our enemy though they have their reasons).

One more time for redundancy's sake:
Aether: More anguish, less outward resolve
Lumine: More resolve, less outward anguish
Agreed, I think the fact that Aether sounds more anguished, while Lumine sounds more cold and bent on revenge, really adds to their characters, and not simply paints them as male/female versions of each other. Both anguish and revenge makes a lot of sense given what they seem to have been through, so it works both ways
I think it's cuz lumine is the real villian in the cannon lore, she just suits it better
Its all the voice actors...
This 👌🏻
@@Rothee11 Nah she aint. They both canon
Jesus, people can’t enjoy these cutscenes and say that Aether sounds/looks cool as a antagonist without having to constantly hear “Well too bad because Aether is the canon mc and Lumine isn’t.” What difference does it make? Like bruh just let us enjoy the game.
*Personally* I’m on team aether but man do I hate those people. They give us aether lovers a bad look
it's probably because of the trailer and manga? because i initially chose lumine in genshin since im a girl, but then i read genshin manga and watched a lot of genshin trailers and thought that aether is the real MC, so i made another account and chose aether to relate more with the promotion content
Both of them are canon actually lol but dw after 2.2 their would be a balance between thier promotional screen time.
I don’t think there is a canon me . It’s for people perspective for them to decide who it is
that argument ia really dumb honestly. otherwise mihoyo wouldn't make us to choose between 2 chara at the start.
both performances as the evil twin were incredible!! props to Zach and Sarah they made very good evil twins
@@whwjsjhsj I also have this theory that the unknown god/Celestia are controlling the Abyss, without Lumine's awareness of it
I’m not regretting i picked Lumine. Lumine sounds evil here and its almost like she was like that mych before the beginning. Aether didn’t sound evil and made me think he had he’s own reason for his action. Kinda more tragic and i liked that

In my opinion, when you look at them as antagonists, Lumine's more cold and revengeful while Aether's more anguished and worn out. But when you look at them as the protagonists, Aether looks confused and distressed while Lumine looks stunned and grief-stricken.
I love them both honestly. Both looks amazing and other worldly and seeing them side to side speaking also sounds so good. Their VA are legendary
Aether look better as the villain because he look like he hide a secret and can't say it and he must to do it while he's also a little sad while talking to his sister while Lumine just look like she joined the dark side and don't care about her Brother and everything

Yea she really does look evil
0:28 they have different swords OoO
Nice catch xD
Yes they have as aether symbolize sun and lumine moon
Always has been.. lol
They had them in opening cutscene
Note, at 0:23 if you play as Lumine, after Aether attack and push Dain away, Lumine look at Dain before look back at the enemy
I just like that both twins are different. I don’t like when in media people think twins are mirrors of the same person. They’re not. I love that both siblings have different flavors in their delivery and either one we pick is beautifully crafted. I love this game.
I can hear the anger and the thirst for revenge in lumine's voice while Aether just sounds....sad and hopeless but is still holding on
Best way to put it
Aether sounds like he's really really sad
S w e e t s i s t e r l u m i n e
Am I the only one who feel bad for dain, homeboy becomes immortal and then got blamed for something he himself probably didn't want💀
Edit: and I think it's not a good idea to enter that portal dain
He's mind go blank 😓😓
Aether voice is so calm Lumine sounds cool but Aethers facial expression is so serious while Lumine has softness in it.
Broooo this cutscene was amazing this is what i wanted form gesnhin clean ass combat scenes only if either could talk stop holding him back mihoyo
...Damn, would probably play the MC a lot more if his combos were as cool/fast, or at least nearly, too bad he feel so slow :/

Lumine really is more suited as the villain role. Aether just look too nice..
After all choosing aether as MC are the Canon story
Aether s colors are also more welcoming and warm, not only is lumine s va bomb at her role, but her character fits too
To me they both fit the villain role
in the japanese version he seems more to have more anger in him than lumine though
The facial expression says it all..
I'm still bothered that they just left the defiled statue there.
The gold swords are different 🧐
yes that true..☝🏻 is that meaning some thing🤔
Yes Aether is star and Lumine is moon
Mihoyo is always pays attention to details like that
Always has been.. lol
If im not mistaken, It's actually the sword that they used to fight the intro enemy.
So.. Perhaps the traveller had lost his/her after the battle
This quest makes me think about the possibility of looped universe, in the end of journey later, we became the one who joined the abyss... Thus back to the past and fight the other half of the twins... Thus creating these 2 alternate scene with either lumine or aether, cz they looping each other, possibly because in the end they failed to safe the other half
Just a theory tho..
I still cant get over that fact that Dainsleif was Naruto ran through the portal
3:16 i still cant get over this scene, both twins look so confused, it breaks my heart 🥺😭
So does mean no originally timeline what we choose gender Character?
Literally all arguments mean nothing cause Mhy already confirmed that both are canon , but internet is full idiots as them so it’s not surprising
0:25 biggest difference between the two cutscenes
Love how lumine's side is just her doing smooth hits on the herald while on aether's side
He is basically using force to try and beat the herald
Player : "we need more story line asap "
Mihoyo : "go back and serve more the people of tayvat"
I agree
their expression too
Aether is full of determination
but Lumine's expression is cold as ice
@@takasakisaito2797 Lumine is like Tsaritsa?
I not sure which one is most voted Gender Impact sibling became leader Abyss Order
Lumine sounds so sure and full of resolve, unwavering determination
aether sounds almost defeated when he speaks, like he's hurting but has to do this.
Lumine sounds more... resolute. Like she's actually angry and has a goal she's working towards, while Aether is just... hopeless? Uncertain?
It remind me with Alexious and Kassandra in Assasin Creed Oddysey
Lumine againts her own herald omg 👁👄👁
‘We have always had enough time.’
WHY AM I CRYING 😭
I - I just can't right now. Seeing Aether's reaction when Lumine just ditched him... I literally _feel_ my heart breaking in two. It's been nearly a year since I experienced this for myself, but it still sets me in so much tears. I want to give my boy a big hug, a pat on the back, *something* to cheer him up. He didn't have to go through so much pain - _I_ didn't have to go through that much pain. Why must you do this to me, Meloo?
I'm glad I picked Lumine. Aether sounds like a cool anti-hero who is desperate for justice.
Lumine sounds like a true villain while aether sounds like someone who’s desperate and became a bad guy
The evil one still has the golden sword while the chosen MC lost his/her golden sword
I've never realized how emotional I got when I watched this scene
Lumine really sounds like she wants revenge, while Aether sounds like some sort of Anti-Hero
It fits their characters, and it's a nice touch

@@AryNaik no? He's just the featured twin so fans don't get confused. Nobodys the true hero or villian ;-; it's up to the player
@@InactiveTwig No actually, it's the opposite. Lumine was meant to be the true antagonist before they added her as a playable MC later in the development. The true canon story is where Aether is the protagonist.

I pick Aether as a character too because i heard that he's the real protagonist in Genshin Impact.
Man I picked Aether and I really wanted to see him as the prince in this quest and I must say I’m not disappointed.
the prince/princess was oh my god and da sync u did at the home part was AMAZING

Aether's voice was soft, sorrow, disbelief and some how feel like he was trying to hide some kind of pain. Lumie's in another hand has a lot of rage and cold in it.
So in conclusion. Dain was Aether's ex-best bro, they fell apart. Or Lumie's ex... he dumped her?
thank god I choose aether cause lumine fits the villain role more

It's weird, but I felt different kinds of emotions depending on which twin we choose as our main character during this scene, for some reason.
When playing as Aether, it gives *An older brother who failed to guide his younger sister into the right path* kind of vibes.
Meanwhile, while playing as Lumine it felt like *a conflicted girl that can't choose between following her older brother like she always do, or to defy him.*
Lumine(villain) has more of a cold, blank stare compare to aether's stare( hopelessness)
Everybody saying Lumine kills it as the villain sibling in this scene, but I'm still glad I chose Lumine as the protag just because I love her character design so much and would prefer seeing her in cutscenes over Aether (not that I dislike Aether's design either)
0:27 the sword are different🧐

With this comparison I feel like their fighting their own self 😂😂😂
Im so glad that i chose aether as the MC lumine’s VA is so good
Yes!! I was chatting with my friend about this topic and i opened youtube to find this video🙂

Really want hear cn cv of Lumine as the princess of abyss.. because I've heard Aether as the prince of abyss since I chose Lumine. And cn cv of Aether already made me like him like other characters. It just felt like he's not a character I can choose to get, but a character you need to wish to get 😂
The “villain” does fit him more in cn cv for me, he sound so cool and calm like he know everything, like he really have gone through something and still cares about Lumine even though he's on the abyss side (still our enemy though they have their reasons).
This scene will never fail to fuck me up
