That plant on the floor is a Monstera Deliciosa. The older it gets, the more fenestrations the leaves get, especially if you allow it to climb. You should get a Monstera deliciosa ‘Thai Constellation’; it is gorgeous.

🌱Laura, what you called a pink stem at 6:57 is named a Midrib. From the Georgia 4H, these are the parts of a leaf:
    • Blade: consists of the apex, margin, veins, midrib, and base. It is the large, flat part of the
    leaf where photosynthesis occurs.
    • Apex: tip of the leaf
    • Margin: edge of the leaf
    • Veins: carry food/water throughout leaf; act as a structure support
    • Midrib: thick, large single vein along the midline of the leaf
    • Base: bottom of the leaf
    • Petiole: the stalk that joins a leaf to the stem; leafstalk
    • Stipule: the small, leaf-like appendage to a leaf, usually found in pairs at the base of the
    petiole
    🌱

I would really encourage you guys to look into a small reverse osmosis filtration system to go under your sink in the Hartley. They are small enough to go under a kitchen sink. You would avoid leaf spotting all your plants in there. It would slow the mineralization of the terracotta pots. Just a suggestion.

I put them in the garage with No water. They were dry as a bone when I realized they didn't have a tuber. I decided to just bring the twigs inside & pot them up around my dracena b4 xmas. I put a grow lite on them & watered them ev other week. I'll be darn if they are flushing back & have leaves!! Wow!!😳🤯

I poured elmers glue on his palms waited as long as could for it to dry, maybe a minute or 2 since he couldnt hold still from the agony. Rubbed it off from wrist to finger tips and it worked! All the horrible spines disappeared 🙌 Worst feeling a plant mom and a boy mom ever.

That plant next to the Amaryllis is a Monstera Deliciosa. The Rhaphidophora Tetrasperma is not a Monstera, although some people call it a Mini Monstera. The Philodendron White Knight, Pink Princess, etc, need poles to climb and humidity. For the 2 Philodendron you have that are struggling, remove them from the pot and water, inspect the roots. If black, they are rotting. Cut off that part, treat and then you can re-plant to rehab them. The Ficus Klingon and Anastasia- they are Ficus Benjamina. I don’t know how ProveWinners comes up with those names 😂. The Bromeliad only blooms once, so the babies will be the next ones to bloom once they get big enough. Be careful with the cactus with glochids, moving the plant can make some dislodge and fly, so painful.

I just repotted a few of my houseplants yesterday. It only cost about $3 for the new soil. I threw away the coolest Rattle Snake that had mildew or fungus. So bummed about that loss. It helps me to hear about how you handle your plants water needs and bug issues. It’s hard for me to tell if the plants are suffering from not enough water or too much. Apparently my observation skills could use a boost. I also need to work on adding drain holes to the pots. Thanks for the tour in the beautiful Hartley! So heartwarming to see the cats ❤ 😂 (Please feel free to add more videos about common issues with house plants 🪴 How to tell if the plant needs more sun, less sun, more water or less water and what types of fungus issues etc.) Also, I started gifting Amaryllis at Christmas last year and I love getting photos sent to me around this time. At the risk of showing my age, these plant tours bring me right back to the 70s when everyone's home was full of plants. At least, ours was. My mother had many of the darlings of the age, but she was not a fan of philodendron or tradescantia. Our favorite plant is one that has failed to make a comeback though, the ming aralia. Waiting patiently for its return to fame.
I see you have the same lady's head planter and are struggling with the same nasty mealy bug pest that I am now. The plants are getting so big they might have to be replaced with smaller ones, if it doesn't clear up soon.
Russell is unflagging in his devotion to you, Laura. Fortunately, there is room for all three cats on your homestead, but Douglass will simply have to understand that Russell saw you first. ~ Lisa

Laura, some time ago, Jack did a video at a nursery greenhouse in Florida that grows the Bromeliads. He was showing how to separate them and repot them. So maybe look his video up.

Also, what’s with the sandals in the snow😂? Didn’t see any winter wear on the floor as you toured around the room!😊

I love your Hartley! I could totally imagine an ornamental pepper and/or some micro dwarf cherry tomatoes! Have you thought about that?
Also, what is the small camera for by the geraniums? It looks like a pet camera that I have.

What a gorgeous space! Regarding putting plants higher, what about anchoring a tall shepherd’s hook in a big pot & hanging a pot from the hook (or even a double one) then planting the base pot as well?

Thank you so much, Laura, Aaron for going through all the plants in the Hartley. When watching videos that you film in the Hartley, I'm listening to you but can't help but look in the background at how lovely your plants are looking and maybe a few might not be so lovely but it's encouraging because sometimes I have some of the same plants that are suffering and when you talk about those it helps me to check and adjust what to do. For the longest time I thought that limey sage green training plant was a type of Helichrystum, so maybe one day I'll see in my local garden nursery. I like the open space and how you set up your plants in Hartley...can't wait for the replant videos! Hope Benjamin and Samantha Grace enjoyed their birthday celebrations!

Laura, beautiful plants in your Heartley! Philodendrons look great! A repotting video would be so cool. Girl, it's super cold and you are wearing flip flop kinda shoes!!!!! Do you walk in those to your house or do you change them to go outside. I am a South Florida girl, maybe that is why I am so surprised. Monstera Deliciosas cuttings grow so easily. The ones without fenestrations belong to your plants. Monstera's cuttings grow leaves according to their age. If you get a cutting from an old one, the fenestrations will be more. Loved this video. I have in my garden now, so many of those plants!

I just watched‘Gardeningwithcreekside’, in Dallas, North Carolina with Jenny and Jerry that visited Laura and Aaron to setup their Greenhouse. They just got their first Proven Winners plugs from Pleasant View in Michigan.Excited to see new plants and dream of Spring. I live in South Carolina,so I shouldn’t complain, but I am ready for warmer temperatures! Stay warm Laura and family ❤️🥶

Hey Laura from Nova Scotia, zone 6 (supposedly, previously 5). I am so envious of your Hartley. I just bought a small 6 x 8 plexiglass greenhouse. Have been researching how I could heat it cost effectively in our area. Not looking promising. Think I’ll have to wait a few more months. I so love watching your videos. I am living, and greenhouse gardening, vicariously with you. Can’t wait until spring when I can garden with you. You and your family are so enjoyable to follow. Sending love and good gardening wishes from your friend and follower Lorna. ❤️🌳🌲🌷🌸

Our area changed to zone 7a this year from zone 6b. We’ve had a few nights in the past 10 days that have dropped below zero. With wind chills way below zero. I’ve kept my hydrangeas covered as well as my butterfly bush. Last year the polar blast killed my butterfly bush and got the buds on my hydrangeas. I’m praying they will be ok this year.

Laura and Aaron, snow ice cream is so good. I really miss it. we live in Milwaukee, WI. so we can't make it like my parents did in Mississippi. small towns snow is cleaner that city snow. I was surprised when you said you would be eating it, because you are so young. How was it? Thanks for sharing. your presentation you do is just so dawn interesting, because I don't like house plants videos, but I love your video's because you teach us everything about and surrounding each plant, pots, you cleaning the leaves, and the names of the plants, also, you have beautiful unique house plants. you always know what you are going to say, and you do not say the same sentence 3 times in different ways. The words just flows, and that is what making you the best Gardner on you tube, face book, and instragram. Keep up the good work, and take time to enjoy each other, and your family.☃🌧🌺🍦

I just love your Hartley and the plant tour was so relaxing! My understanding with regards to bromeliads, once the plant flowers, it shoots out little pups and the mother plant begins to decline. Remove the pups and plant them up!

Good morning from North Carolina. I love having my morning coffee and listening to your videos. Seeing your head planter again reminded me of that video and the head planter that I did with my husband. It lives on our screened porch most of the year, but is in the sunroom right now. I am sure it is anxious for spring. Thank you so much.
