The last really great deal I found at Ollie's was when the GI Joe Classified series Zarana, Crimson Twins and Crimson Guard were available for $4.99 each. Meanwhile the Lady Jaye is still $12.99 and I doubt they'll ever sell all the Star Wars Black Series figures still at $9.99 each. There are several Ollie's in the area, three within a reasonable driving distance, and they all seem to have the exact same inventory. Rarely worth the effort but it's a hard habit to break. Ross is always a mess and I tend to avoid it but did venture in yesterday. Found some Star Wars retro items for myself and a fellow collector friend, not much else.
The best transformers deals at ross are the 86 movie skywarp and shrapnel for 9.99 and the gi joe soundwave crossover for 24.99 but good luck trying to find it. I found the original TMNT from the comics at target today on sale for 7.50 so look out for that. I feel like that was a killer price. Cloudcover is a g2 conehead and 17.99 is a decent price but NOT Ross price lol. I payed 32.99 when it first came out so you did better than me
Cloud Cover was an unreleased concept for G2. Same with Sandstorm. Decepticon, look at the symbol. I got mine on clearance at Walmart for $12 months ago. He was part of Walmart's exclusive G2/Toxitron wave along with the radioactive green Mirage and the red/orange Jazz that looks like a Dorito. I also got the leader Toxitron on clearance. Now I finally have Toxitron in my collection. I really wanted the Combiner Wars version but it's way too expensive.
I've also noticed that action figures are rarely seen in the clearance aisle in walmart & when they are they're snatched up quickly. Also I think that employees separate the clearance figures before stocking them for themselves to sell them online
I have a few preorders but I think I'm going to take a year and some change from collecting. Maybe just purchasing only what I really need to complete the lines I collect or at least catch up
I had to pause, pause, pause on collecting. Overcollecting can make a Huge mess in one's life. One that is Anything but easy to clean up or sort out. It will make you contemplate your existence; That's all I'm going to say. But it made me realize I've been offering the stores my whole-collection budget from back in time, but receiving modern piecemeal trinkets back. We never get whole entire collections anymore, because the complete collections that come out are always devoid of most characters, vehicles and playsets. Added to that, if you say prices on these mere trinkets have gone up, it's feeling like a good time for me to pause. Now back to the hell that is cleaning these toys up! Thanks Unc! :)
So weird. I'm in South Central Pennsylvania and Marvel Legends are still $9.99 at my Ollie's. In fact, I picked up Elvis MODOK for $29.99, which is a steal.
I'm not agreeing with Ross' price hike on Legends, but let's not forget that the Mindless Ones wave were exclusive to GameStop and Amazon. Between that and the influx of anime statues Ross has been getting lately, I wouldn't be surprised that Gamestop and Amazon are charging them more for the inventory. As for Ollie's, it's crazy that (at least where I live in the Carolinas) they are STILL getting more and more boxes of Eternals and Wakanda Forever Marvel Legends along with that old Fortnite stuff and Snake Eyes the movie GI Joe Classified figures. With their price hike(s), I think they are trying to compensate for their current 25% off all action figures promotion going on.
Our Ollie's didn't hardly get anything new for Christmas unlike a lot of the other Ollie's I've seen. I did get another Nighthawk and Blur for $20, with another 25% off of that. But everything else I got was for 'World Building' purposes. Owlbear to put next to Snowbird of Alpha Flight, Karnak, Noh Varr, and Black Series Omega to use as a School girl Civilian. And I bought a Captain Carter because I can use her head to custom a Gemma Simmons for my Agents of SHIELD!
Ross & Ollie's sucked this year. I got a ton of awesome deals on BBTS, Amazon & Walmart. The only things I found at Ross were the Transformers Metalhawk, Twincast & Crashbar. And the DC Multiverse Azrael vs. Batman 2-pack. I picked it up for the fire effect base for $9.99.
This year shifted. There is so many good deals at retailers. Got professor x on walmart for 7.50, that exclusive set that was 50 for like 14 bucks. I think we get stuff slightly later in the midwest and then by the time some stuff is dried up. But those good deals are out there.
The transformer toy that you have from generation 2, I think it's from the comic book series from the early 1980s Marvel comic books. He's a Decepticon.
If uncle is complaining about the prices at Ollie's and Ross things are bad.😂

Everything except wages, Social Security & Food Stamps. It never goes up with it's going into your pocket.
Harsh reality.
I dont know how the lines are in your area but where I live the 30 minute wait combined with the raised prices was a big no for me
I was thinking Ross raised prices when I was there the other day.
Thrift store prices have gone up too.

Don’t judge me unc but I might have to start stealing my figures at the self checkout if these prices don’t drop no cap
I have a few preorders but I think I'm going to take a year and some change from collecting. Maybe just purchasing only what I really need to complete the lines I collect or at least catch up
How many figures do you have. I recently started collecting my favorite anime characters when I was in Japan
@mitch20003 I don't think I've ever counted. I just know I have a room and shed full of toys. a lot of Kaiju ,tokusatsu, horror toys and other things

Just came home from Ollie’s I finally hit something good. Got the track suits in stock at mine was able to grab a few for me and my buddy.

Ross ain't the spot no more for the prices anymore. Greed a hell of thing
Before apex was like over 10 dollars then it was 2.99 now 6.99. so their price always change
