Mag Howl: kind of a meme in PvE, but that 2-tap potential is oh so sweet in PvP. Things gonna go hard for sure. As mentioned, I would bet any amount of money re: Slideshot NOT pre-emptively proccing Mag Howl and being the go-to perk in Column 3. you are able to autoload with tsteps as well without proc'ing mag howl with nf and lunas so unless they change it when new lunas goes live that is also a option and slideshot would 100% be able to load without proc'ing the perk.
4:00 - Personally, I want Mag Howl and Subsistence for that reason. Give more ammo back for kills could give you more time to get kills before reloading.
You can also restore those shots with Tsteps if you play Warlock, or Strand Grapple with Aspect if you care enough about getting the shots back Edit: you can still use Subsistence tho, just showing alternatives😅
I have a heal clip + incandescent "Darkest Before" and I LOVE that thing. Definitely want a Luna with that stuff on it. Howl + Subsistence is the other PvE roll I want to mess with. Dumping a clip of only Howl bullets into a boss could be pretty good.
Heal clip seems like it'd be a good compliment to mag howl since both trigger from reloading shortly after a kill. The cure should make it easier moving quickly between shootouts.

Gotta love the footage of you still destroying with the gun, but constantly having the reflex to attempt reloading after a kill, only to cancel it upon remembering how the perk works. I can tell that despite how good the perk is, it will take some time fighting against muscle memory lol
I recently got a Luna's with Hammer-Forged, Ricochet, Encore, and Precision Instrument with a Range Masterwork. Let me tell you: This gun is absolutely insane once you get it going. Being able to 2H1B like what Fallout said is nuts, but when you constantly get ramping damage, it becomes an absolute monster. I'm tryna get a roll similar to this, but with Mag Howl. May the RNG gods be with you as you guys farm.
There are better HCs than Lunas for PvP. MH is not viable in comp or trials. 6s sure it can be fun. The chances of 2 HS kills to 2 tap a 3rd guardian is incredibly rare.
@testme242 it being a 140 precision will be the reason it's going to be strong in 3s, it's going to be super easy to kill with because it's pure vertical recoil that barely moves, eye of the storm precision instrument for 3s and you'll probably wreck

The additional part of the Mag-Howl perk, the increased range, is something worth noting... not 100% testing accuracy, but magic bullets are hitting at 40m range using Not Forgotten... so the range stat must be well beyond 100...
The base gun given to you by Shaxx is a God roll, and it's nuts. Went 4.25 with it my first game. Of note, Transversive Steps will let you get ammo back without procing magnificent howl.
Getting Luna’s Howl when it first came out took an entire season. (almost 3 months ) Then it took me weeks to master it. Then it got Nerfed one week afterwards. I was salty about that for a while. I just reacquired it… and it’s OK. In fact, the best part about acquiring this weapon was realizing how good Crimson was in the crucible . 😂
PSA : starting from Final shape , for prismatic hunters , you will lose the ability to have healing grenades / devour or vanishing step , so a heal clip incandescent will allow you to ...heal , but most importantly if you kill a scotched ennemy , you will become invisible ( new fragments say any kill against any ennemy affected by any verb debuff will grant invisible ...aka jolted , voltatile or ....scortched ☺️) ...so there you go , the invisibility will allow you to reload at ease and keep the loop going
here's a notion, the quests so far have all given the 'original' rolls of each weapon as they were when they released, so if this is the case with luna's howl, it will be the first and only weapon since the perk was deprecated to have drop mag as a barrel perk on the quest reward version.

I originally wanted a Subsistence/Mag Howl roll for PvE. I thought once you got Mag Howl ready, you'd be able to just infinitely keep it going through continued headshot kills and Subsistence feeding you ammo (which you kinda can on piddly red bars). But instead, you do so much work to get Mag Howl going, then blow those shots on a beefier target that usually doesn't even die. Then you're just left with a basic ass hand cannon plinking away at some tank of an enemy.
Discord and specifically Subsistance/ Magnificent Howl is something to keep an eye out. 10 bullets doing 75% more damage with Radiant that refunds itself and MH if you 1 head an add, will be insane. Kill a bunch on enemies, force a reload by shooting in the air and then do it more efficiently.
Major pve player. I want to go for a Brave Luna with Subsistence/Heal Clip in 3rd and Incandescent and Precision Instrument in 4th. Subsistence and Heal are both very viable for pve and with Incan and Precision these combos will pair well with celestial nighthawk or Orpheus rig specifically because of the seasonal artifact mods and Precision hits/kills with solar weapons giving radiant and all. (edit: slideshot Precision Instrument with Lucky Pants mugnt also work)

Pve roll for me is going to be 2 different ones. Magnificent howl subsistence and incandescent something. Was thinking heal clip. Right now it doesn't seem like a good perk, but once this season ends and we lose the artifact I think heal clip will become more viable then it potentially already is. Honestly the first perk column leaves a lot to be desired for me since I only ever go into pvp when I have to.
Enlightened action is genuinely amazing for Lunas on paper. You can max reload stat with flared magwell and max stacks of enlightened action, which literally only requires landing bullets

Fallout dont sleep on the Subsist. Howl roll for pve. Just got one to drop and it slaps with lucky pants. You can build a full mag worth of howl rounds on the redbars than reload swap off/on to get the pantsu buff and it melts anything
Keep in mind that because the gun is solar and we are still technically in Season of the Wish we still have Flint Striker. Automagical radiant allows for a lot of shenanigans with other perks

Revoker, OG Mountaintop and Recluse, 21% Delerium, Wendigo, everything. The big caveat is that they cost a handful of ascendant shards and enhancement prisms and a boatload of glimmer

The fact that handcannons can 2 tap but bows now need 3 arrows to kill (at least sometimes) is kind of insane. Bows needed a nerf but they've been completely decimated across the board
Can you make a video speculating on what Tesselation will do once the Prismatic sub class combinations drop with Final Shape. The exotic perk is the gun's element matches your equipped subclass. Do you think this will end up being some wild new exotic weapon with Final Shape?
I can't wait for heal clip + incandecent, the only guns that could have roled with that combo so far is a sidearm, a 360 auto, and a 600 auto that's locked to trials. It's going to be so nice for proc-ing ember of beneficence.
Igneous could also get HC/incan, but yeah, locked to fucking trials. Such a waste sadly. Lunas has a special recoil pattern anyways for it’s archetype and better mag size and reload so I’m definitely farming a shiny heal clip incan roll lol
I have a Slideshot/Mag Howl roll and you can keep slide reloading until you get 6 shots of mag howl if you so wish. Better players can probably do a lot with this in 6s.
It's apat that your title calls Luna's basically an exotic. The extra damage of Mag Howl in PVE reminds me of exotic primaries that can basically "punch above their weight class" and do special weapon levels of damage. Think Hawkmoon, Osteo Striga, Vex Mythoclast, Outbreak Perfected, Quicksilver Storm. I even remember Cammycakes mentioning that Luna's came in clutch for him back in Day 1 Last Wish, since the extra damage it could repeatedly do back then allowed him as the last guardian standing, to finish off a boss.
Just to let you know, I remember seeing in another video that even in a base level lost sector, luna's at base is doing less damage than a 140 should be doing in pve. Might be because it's a precision frame.
I'm 99% sure you don't need to get crits to proc stacks of precision instrument, just hits without missing. Theoretically, you should he able to get a 2 head, 1 body with this, if you hit the body first (don't think it works the other way around).
Man, people sleep on Precision Instrument. Really helps dish out damage farther. I fell in love with the perk with my Igneous, and it's satisfying to 3 tap overshield Titans and Warlocks.
Pulled my Luna's, Not Forgotten, OG Mt. Top, Revoker, Redrix's Broadsword , and Komodo from Collections and put them in my vault! Kept my Recluse with 72K kills on it.
This might cause some problems. Although a shadow of its former self. I remember the grind to get this back in the day, and the pure menace it was. I loved it! 🤣
After this season the only roll that will be better than Not Forgotten is full bore, ricochet, slideshot, and mag. howl. And since you can just buy that now, grinding for this is moot. NF may still be better because this can't get zen which will really help secure those crit kills.
Huh. I just realized this is basically Sturm's overcharged rounds but it requires multiple headshot kills with the gun itself rather than any kill with a Drang.

Rose and Luna’s Howl are truly unique guns. One’s a precision with a 140 rpm, the other is a lightweight with 140 rpm.

The fact that handcannons can 2 tap but bows now need 3 arrows to kill (at least sometimes) is kind of insane. Bows needed a nerf but they've been completely decimated across the board

I mean, the perk is basically Ace and Hawkmoon combined, it's in your energy slot, and it's a legendary, no surprise it's a monster

I can't wait for heal clip + incandecent, the only guns that could have roled with that combo so far is a sidearm, a 360 auto, and a 600 auto that's locked to trials. It's going to be so nice for proc-ing ember of beneficence.
Igneous could also get HC/incan, but yeah, locked to fucking trials. Such a waste sadly. Lunas has a special recoil pattern anyways for it’s archetype and better mag size and reload so I’m definitely farming a shiny heal clip incan roll lol

Transversive also works with mag howl but it maxs out at 10
I have a Slideshot/Mag Howl roll and you can keep slide reloading until you get 6 shots of mag howl if you so wish. Better players can probably do a lot with this in 6s.

It's apat that your title calls Luna's basically an exotic. The extra damage of Mag Howl in PVE reminds me of exotic primaries that can basically "punch above their weight class" and do special weapon levels of damage. Think Hawkmoon, Osteo Striga, Vex Mythoclast, Outbreak Perfected, Quicksilver Storm. I even remember Cammycakes mentioning that Luna's came in clutch for him back in Day 1 Last Wish, since the extra damage it could repeatedly do back then allowed him as the last guardian standing, to finish off a boss.
I'm gonna actually go for subsistence/mag howl. Build stacks, waste a shot to reload for bonus rounds, profit. Not optimal PVE but funni.
Just to let you know, I remember seeing in another video that even in a base level lost sector, luna's at base is doing less damage than a 140 should be doing in pve. Might be because it's a precision frame.
I'm 99% sure you don't need to get crits to proc stacks of precision instrument, just hits without missing. Theoretically, you should he able to get a 2 head, 1 body with this, if you hit the body first (don't think it works the other way around).
Love my heal clip incandescent IG hammer! Such a weapon. But the faster reload on Luna could be really good.
Enlightened action and precision instrument will be interesting roll that I will go for.

Man, people sleep on Precision Instrument. Really helps dish out damage farther. I fell in love with the perk with my Igneous, and it's satisfying to 3 tap overshield Titans and Warlocks.
It's definitely going to be fun in 6s. In 3s, Igneous will still remain king for more range and damage. It is a win more perk.
Pulled my Luna's, Not Forgotten, OG Mt. Top, Revoker, Redrix's Broadsword , and Komodo from Collections and put them in my vault! Kept my Recluse with 72K kills on it.
If you're a warlock and don't get luna to role with slide shot, just wear Transversive steps. It'll reload your luna for you.

After this season the only roll that will be better than Not Forgotten is full bore, ricochet, slideshot, and mag. howl. And since you can just buy that now, grinding for this is moot. NF may still be better because this can't get zen which will really help secure those crit kills.
PVE rolls for me. Incandescent/heal clip and incandescent/subsistence.
of course mag howl seems like kind of a meme in pve, your using a 1600 version of the gun, and its a known fact that doing so fucks the stats up
Huh. I just realized this is basically Sturm's overcharged rounds but it requires multiple headshot kills with the gun itself rather than any kill with a Drang.
