Diana Ankudinova kind of transcends genre: you can find reactors who are super enthusiastic about her music but who usually listen to heavy metal, punk, rap, classical, you name it. For your own benefit, you might like to know that all of these songs are on her TH-cam channel, with good, human-created, English captions, so you can actually learn what the songs are about!

It's great that Diana finally released her first album. They are really beautiful songs with deep lyrics. Everyone can draw the essence from it for themselves. I like every single song because Diana interprets the songs in an inimitable, clever and sensitive way. Nevertheless, I want Brendon Stone or whoever the next composer will be not only to write beautiful melodies, but also to emphasize and stage the vocal abilities and possibilities of our goosebumps queen even more. Mysticism, depth of the lyrics and the voice, unique interpretation, goose bumps, that's what sets Diana apart from many other singers.
But I'm confident. Brendon Stone and Diana have only been working together for about a year and a half and the first album was a success. Maybe one day Igor Krutoy will write a song for Diana, the two are still in contact and who knows, maybe one day Dimash will even compose a song for Diana?

Greetings from Scotland! "Duduk" is an ancient double reed Armenian flute, hence the soulful sound. Beautiful vocals in this! A great album with gorgeous music and singing from Diana isn't it! My personal favourite is "My Night" or "ночь" because it's a modern sound and incidentally, Diana also enjoys singing this. This album is an experimental album for Diana and she's still trying to decide what is her "brand" of music. She's very caring and is concerned that she would like to try a different style but perhaps her fans won't agree! At some point she will have to follow her instincts - and wherever that goes, I'll be right there to support! I already know she can sing any genre in any language and it will be spectacular! Great reaction to a solid first album guys! Have a great 2022!

Привет из Шотландии! «Дудук» - старинная армянская флейта с двумя язычками, отсюда и проникновенное звучание. Красивый в этом вокал! Отличный альбом с великолепной музыкой и пением Дианы, не так ли! Мой личный фаворит - "My Night" или "ночь", потому что это современный звук, и, кстати, Диане тоже нравится это петь. Этот альбом является экспериментальным для Дианы, и она все еще пытается решить, какой у нее «бренд» музыки. Она очень заботлива и обеспокоена тем, что хотела бы попробовать другой стиль, но, возможно, ее поклонники не согласятся! В какой-то момент ей придется следовать своим инстинктам - и куда бы они ни пошли, я буду тут же, чтобы поддержать! Я уже знаю, что она может петь в любом жанре на любом языке, и это будет зрелищно! Very nice words. Have not yet found something I do not like from her (and likely will not), so same as you I am right there to support her whatever she sings. Hope she will sing the type I enjoy the most but I have no worries. All genres will be good.

In my humble opinion, this is a perfect album for starting a long journey. Neither an extraordinary perfect, nor a cheesy one. This is a fact that fans and critics expect a better album in comparison to the previous one(s). So, a clever artist shall not put all efforts on the first album. He or she must just make a decent presentation of what he/she can do. So, I'm sure that we will see constantly better and better albums from our dearest princess Dianochka.
Again, in my humble opinion, this album, from technically, musically, lyrically, and above all, vocally point of view, is far better many famous contemporary singers with multi million followers and many blah blah awards
Удивительно! Я два месяца надеялся найти где-нибудь более-менее толковую рецензию на этот альбом - и наконец услышал её - и где? - на английской территории... Респект этим двум джентльменам - я сразу же подписался... Самое странное, что их предпочтения почти совпали с моими! Я, как и они, очень высоко оцениваю песню "Россией тебя зову", а также - "Дудук" и "Ангел". Меньше других мне нравятся "Ночь" и "Хрупкий лёд" - и они отметили, совершенно справедливо, некоторое несовпадение этих песен с общим настроением альбома. Невероятно - но они очень внимательно прослушали все песни и сделали ряд точных и проницательных наблюдений относительно звучания инструментов и аранжировки. Хорошие замечания о звучании голоса Дианы, его гибкости, разнообразии и красоте. Я вижу, что этот голос они уже почувствовали и полностью приняли... Что же - если нет пророков в своём отечестве - будем пока слушать иностранных. Во всяком случае, они действительно разобрались в том, что послушали...
Вспоминаю, что мне не понравилась их первая реакция - но похоже, Диана их сумела всё-таки переубедить...

I have to say that the clips I heard from the album didn't ignite my interest like Wicked Game or Personal Jesus. I'd love to see her take on some livelier or more rhythmically interesting material, perhaps some Caribbean or Brazilian styles; Antonio Carlos Jobim's songs Girl From Ipanema and Wave would be perfect for her, I think. I like this album review idea, though. It has a lot of promise. It's revealing to sample an album's worth, rather than the one-off. Nice work, gents!
If you guys wanna hear some of these songs live Diana did a radio show set shortly after the album released. The channel is called Autoradio and they uploaded the full set to TH-cam. They also uploaded individual videos for each song, without the interview questions. She redid Personal Jesus (with better mixing, her voice is more forward in the mix). She also redid her cover of Rag'N'Bone Man's Human. Night is probably my favorite song from the album because it sounds so familiar to me. I don't know what 80s song it reminds me of but it definitely feels that way. Diana has a lot of control over the production and has described herself as a bit of a stubborn goat when it comes to song choices and details.

Wow, I didn't expect that two English gentlemen would present an in-depth analysis of an album by a Russian singer with the songs in Russian. You did a great job. I agree with some of your comments. In my opinion, this is a good debut album packed with nice songs. Diana demonstarted here a bit different part of her vocal talents. My only disappointment is that the album is very short. I like all the songs on the album except for the last one (I don't know how to properly translate it in English, maybe "Near and dear"). To my knowledge, duduk is an Armenian folk music instrument, which is a kind of flute or something like that. Thanks a lot for the reaction, your analysis and your time!
I hope we can see more Diana reactions, because in the last 1 year, lot of songs came out, and She was singing at St. Peterborough, with Hans Zimmers orchestra. 😊

No doubt at all about her vocal abilities and I look forward to listening to streaming the whole album. I am however surprised that she chose to sing every track in Russian. A mix with some tracks in English might have made the Album more desirable commercially worldwide (album sales being the end goal). Dimash sings in several languages as does Morissette and I doubt if Angelina Jordans next album will be in Norwegian. Just saying.

@@grom010101 Э-э, а как Вы считаете: равноценно ли сравнивать, номера с Ты-супер и Шоумаскгоон, где на выходе - это высокобюджетные шоу, и к таланту Дианы прикладывается талант примерно ещё сотни человек; а релиз альбома, где принимали участие от силы полдюжины человек, и выпущен он в формате аудио-треков с титрами, - что это вещи несопоставимые? И если уж сравнивать, умножайте отдачу треков альбома в 10-20 раз, либо делите популярность шоу-номеров на 10-20 крат. И Вы с удивлением обнаружите, что хотя бы и так грубо уравненные условия дадут сопоставимые результаты для номеров шоу и треков альбома.

You say you are "chilled" by Diana and that she had a"hair-raising" effect. I have tried to listen and tried to align to what she does but truly and honestly, I find her voice creepy. I cannot listen to much before changing to other music, other singers. I don't mean this with disrespect .. I see people are taken with her voice. It does not connect for me personally .. I find it dark to a place of discomfort. It's my lack, I believe, that I cannot connect with her at all .. but am glad for her that she seems to be building a following.
