I've blocked 5k side-scrapping off a dead tank, in front of 3 tier10s. My team ended up winning eventually but honestly I've never laughed as much as I did cause no one could pen me.
I have the Qilin, which is a better 5A, but I think the 277 is still better. The Qilin/5A armor is weaker and has bigger weak points, making it harder to survive
Totally agree. I would even argue that the Obj 260 does everything the 277 does(except the 490 alpha) better as well. I really liked the 277 when it first came out, it’s just unfortunate that they buffed the IS-7 and introduced the Obj 260 that now, the 277 is kinda in a weird position. Good, but it’s counter parts just do everything better.
@@Blowtow I'd say the OBJ. 260 is. Faster than it and APCR is standard. Good crew with mobility skills and perks makes terrain resistances irrelevant. I own all of the heavy Russian hitter and personal, OBJ. 260 takes the cake and IS-4 is in second.
@@Blowtow yes. I preferred the 277 before they buffed the IS-7, but now, the IS-7 is just better in most ways. It’s better at side scraping and hull down. It’s faster and it’s gun is more accurate. The only thing the 277 has over the IS-7 is it has better penetration and is a flatter tank.(smaller target) It really could use a mobility buff but then what do you do with the 260? That would make the 260 irrelevant if the 277 became the agile pseudo medium which the 260 holds that role currently. I think the only way to make the 277 more relevant, without taking the place of any of the other Russian heavy’s is to maybe just give it a 130mm gun with 560 alpha. I think that would make it fit in perfectly.
The 277 has a weak upper plate by the numbers, but if you poke out from behind a hill and the slope covers your tracks, the extreme angle makes your upper plate invincible. And people just. keep. shooting. it.
I need some advise so I have two accounts one has an fv4005 a kpz 50t an obj 257 Comet and a tier 7 British light tank plus a t72 Ural in cold war with 51% win rate while the other has an e100 an m48a5 an abj 780 and an is 2 II with a thumper in cold war and 55 % win rate so which one should I focus on
I never bounce a shell off my 277 well hardly I know it’s ment to a fantastic tank but nothing like a is7 in my hands I mean , I hardly play it anymore but when I come up against one I never seem to pen it even with gold but that’s like all my heavy tanks most the time everyone pens me but I never pen them 👍
I like the 277, it’s just that I think it’s in a weird position as it is. I think a power to weight as well as ground resistance buff would make it more relevant. It’s just because the IS-7 does “heavy” tank better and the obj 260 does the “pseudo medium” better. It’s really just a tank for people who like it, not necessarily for people looking to min/max.
I think they should just give the 277 560 alpha. Kinda like what they did with the 5A aka the Qilin. It would make it relevant without taking any of the roles of the current bevy of Russian heavy’s and it would be an easy buff/change for wargamming to introduce.

Instead of getting a prem 121B, don't its not very good and you would do better grinding M48A5 PATTERN, E50M, or the higher alpha, OBJ 430U, or just the standard 121

I genuinely love the tank! User experience may vary but if you like being flexible and using a more all round approach to heavy tanks its so much fun!!
@@EcliipseHD it’s definitely up there with the super conquerer same kind of play style but if I had to choose a soviet tier 10 heavy tank it would be the IS-7, just seem to have better games in it

Ive had nothing but trouble out of my 277 lately.
My leopard 1 bounces just as much as my 277 which makes no sense at all..
Same with my 257, can't seem to block anything on the upper plate 🤷♂️

You can, but I think the obj 260 fills that role better.

you'll probably want an advanced loader, vents, and maybe something that boosts its good engine power. It's all personal preference though
