Autumn Leaf Excursion on the Reading & Northern with T-1 2102

2022 was quite the exciting year for steam on the Reading & Northern with former Reading T-1 2102 returning to service after a 31 year absence. The railroad put the locomotive through its paces as it tested on an empty hopper train, pulled several Iron Horse Rambles trips, and even a revenue loaded coal train. But that wouldn’t be the last we’d see of 2102 for the year…
The 2102 got to strut her stuff again in October pulling Autumn Leaf Excursions over the course of three Saturdays; the 1st, 8th, and 29th. By now it’s no secret that during the October 8th trip, 2102 suffered an unexpected mechanical problem, taking it out of service for the rest of that day. Fortunately, the excellent crews at the Reading & Northern made short work of the problem, and 2102 came back swinging for her final trip of the year on the 29th.
