Roye's foray into power pop was great too, check out Grand Alliance...with Derek Holt of Climax Blues Band. Brendan Day was the drummer. Super enjoyable album, a guilty pleasure.
Has anyone figured out the lyrics to this great song ? Please get them up if you can . Been listening to Nektar for many years , and this seems to be the last studio effort , and this may be the most heartfelt song on the record . I've always had a special love for Nektar , a great band that I was lucky to see two times . I was sad to hear that Royce Albriton passed away , having listened to his voice and guitar for 50 years . What a musical legacy he left us .
I couldn't find official lyrics, so there's a chance I misheard, but I feel like this is at least 99% accurate: --- Hello? ...Hello? Do you know who this is? No...? It's you. Seems like I've been here before Singing the same old song The difference, now, those words are true, yeah And happening for sure When I look back at make-believe Such innocence in time To see my friends in childlike years, oh I (?) What will become of them? One day, you may find That life's not what you had in mind Now I've come to realize (day by day) That time is on my side (lookin' for) I can't change what has gone before, but I Just look into my eyes The answer to all your dreams (all my dreams) Those fears and those desires (in the mirror) Let no one say "it's fate, my friend," The child is still inside One day, you may find That life's not what you had in mind One day, you may find That life's not what you had in mind Remember what you're here for Take a long look in the mirror All time is a new day A new start, a better way A better way When I look back at make-believe, and such innocence in time, to see my friends in childlike years... What will become of them? Now, I've come to realize that time is on my side, and I can't change what has gone before. Just look into my eyes. The answer to all your dreams, your fears, and your desires. Let no man say "it's fate, my friend." The child is still inside. Nektar, the most underrated band of the early 70s. The Live performances were legendary.
Whoever designed that album cover needs to be awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor.
Or at least the Silver Star .
Just saw Yes and it renewed my interest in prog. This Time machine is so very good.
legendary band
RIP ROYE!

Hello? ...Hello?
Do you know who this is?
No...?
It's you.
Seems like I've been here before
Singing the same old song
The difference, now, those words are true, yeah
And happening for sure
When I look back at make-believe
Such innocence in time
To see my friends in childlike years, oh I (?)
What will become of them?
One day, you may find
That life's not what you had in mind
Now I've come to realize (day by day)
That time is on my side (lookin' for)
I can't change what has gone before, but I
Just look into my eyes
The answer to all your dreams (all my dreams)
Those fears and those desires (in the mirror)
Let no one say "it's fate, my friend,"
The child is still inside
One day, you may find
That life's not what you had in mind
One day, you may find
That life's not what you had in mind
Remember what you're here for
Take a long look in the mirror
All time is a new day
A new start, a better way
A better way

Label: What do you envision as your album art?
Nektar: Yes
don't like Corporate owned entities. Nektar, however, i'm fond of.
