I think success is indeed a key factor in the hate game. Take a guy like Christian Laettner, for example. He was hated even before he got into the NBA -- and even more after being selected to play with the Dream Team. But over time, he went on to have such a mediocre career that people probably realized it was more cost-effective to just ignore him.
@NonyaBusiness! yeah, I meant after a couple of years into the NBA he was sort of forgotten. Had he had a less mediocre career, maybe he would be hated for longer. Most of the guys on the video could not be just ignored.

I think we can all admit, Reggie Miller scoring 9 points in 8 seconds is the most impressive 8 seconds in NBA history
This list was surprisingly spot on. A couple of observations:
1. Garnett’s not a really bad dood... he’s f nuts.
2. I hated Reggie, but mostly because he was so good at what he did and beat my lakers more than he should have. That said, that sticking his leg out trick pissed me off every time.
3. Kobe didn’t deserve the hate. He was good and he played clean (until someone played dirty on him).
4. Lebron doesn’t deserve hate. He’s just made some really bad decisions. ‘The decision’ was one of them. Declaring _himself_ GOAT was another. This whole LA thing... that’s gonna end badly, I think.
5. Artest... see #1.
6. Pistons... glad you didn’t include Dumars. He always seemed like a decent guy to me.
I sat court side at many Laker games and Kobe was a dirty player. Not that he wasn't my favorite or 2nd only to MJ but behind the plays he'd be elbowing guys, holding jerseys, tripping them etc. It was actually funny to watch and 9 outta 10 times the guys would get frustrated and retaliate and get called for a penalty lol. I was a Celtics fan in 70's, 80's and 90's and after the Pistons defeated the Celtics in late 80's I rooted for them in playoffs. Say what you want but they took East Coast basketball to another level. Not to mention they should have won three straight except for the phantom foul Laimbeer "committed" on Kareem.

Did the Bulls documentary framed it to look differently? Bill Lambeer was actually one of the first stretch 5's but they didnt let him play like that because shooting as a center was forbidden in that era, defenitly when ur known for fighting with people under the rim.
He was a stretch big before it came into vogue. He was also a great rebounder and defender despite the fact he could not jump.

I don’t understand why people hate Kobe. I get the trial and his off-court accusations but being ‘’To Hard” on his teammates? That’s apart of basketball. When it comes to dirty players names like Zaza Pachulia, Draymond Green, Joakim Noah, Charles Oakley., Rasheed Wallace, Kermit Washington or Bruce Bowen are unavoidable mentions.
Danny Ainge or at least Danny Ainge of his first 5 years in the NBA was pure evil & then later in his career calmed down. I remember after Ainge was traded to Sacramento a sign in the crowd at MSG when the Celtics were playing at NY read "we still hate Danny Ainge".
