It's a firefighter prank. This is a classic one. Then there is also the collecting of gas vapors from the fire truck into a plastic bag for testing. Lots of fun pranks
The classic one in our firehouse is asking the newbie’s where the spare tires are for the trucks lol sure it’s the oldest truck in the book but it still works. Less fun than this but wither way it’s a knee slapper!
four hours cutting with these badass saws puts anyone to the limit. my record is eight and a half hours cutting in a day. brutal on the back. i have siatica now.
Your "Chief" must be very young and inexperienced, if he has them doing that. The fact that a chief would have any direct contact with a new recruit indicates that it is an extremely small department, with no emphasis on chain of command. In a metro department, there would be several Lieutenants, Captains, District Chiefs Deputy Chief and Assistant Chiefs between a firefighter and Chief. More importantly, the joke is on him: early K12 saws had no clutch, consequently they could be started dragging the blade. The lack of clutch and direct-drive configuration caused any blade rotation to rotate the engine. It was a common practice during roof operations. That lame, corny, prank it's not only immature, but it lacks creativity since it's been a TH-cam video topic within small rural departments hundreds of times.
Thanks for the reply. cant remember your name or most anyones for that matter since I was only at Mahmudiyah for a month then got transferred to Al Asad to take advantage of my ARFF certs. The saw starting "class" happened just before I got there. Take Care. Small world that I'd see someone I knew from the peanut harvesting video.
Ok i dont know if he has heard about pull start If i was to run on the ground with my Stihl ms441magnum expecting it to start than i would look like a stupid idiot.

We use this saw often in my construction business to cut brick and other masonry units out. Cool Video. Very useful saw for limitless use.
They are hard working saws once you get them running.
