      Those mountains are actually part of the Garibaldi range of the Coastal Mountains (southern tip).

    Last time i flew into Vancouver was from central BC over the Coast Mountains most of the way. With the moonlight on that snow the mountains are stunning.

    In all the times I flew to vancouver, it was always cloudy. We'd come out of the clouds and I would see ocean then land. You were very lucky to see the Coastal Mountains on your flight.

    Oh the wonders of the TH-cam algorithm, this video just shows up as a recommendation 10 years and five days after it was originally posted.
    Cool video that looks like it was taken in the winter of 2008/2009 because of several key points but the most oblivious one to those that remember was the opening of the Canada Line on August 17, 2009 and those green Vancouver Airport Express buses which stopped running on September 30, 2009. At 11:5 1 one of those green buses can be seen driving over the Arthur Laing Bridge towards Granville Street.
    The other obvious key that this video was taken well before October 4, 2009, when the Pitt River Bridge opened, can be seen at 5:06 as it is under construction with only the main cable span towers and a small portion of road deck is in place.

    I’ve flown over this city countless times been here my whole life. Always funny looking back and seeing that nothing’s changed besides very fee skyscrapers added and the roads paved black. If only they spread out the city

    • @ransom182
      @ransom182 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Spread out where? There's no where to spread out to... ocean, mountains, USA border and valuable farm land... we are kinda of hemmed in here. Dense cities are more livable, sustainable, more vibrant and less dependent on cars and expensive highways and low value parking lots.

    I'll be on a Lufthansa flight from Munich to Vancouver on my way to San Francisco coming all the way from Barcelona. I like to go out of my way to fly on airlines like Lufthansa and visit new airports such as Vancouver. I hope to visit Vancouver again soon.

    AM proud to live in Canada its n enormous country were it takes days to drive through lots of empty land good friendly people and we were rank number 1 for having the most beautiful park in the world ,STANLEY PARK EH! so to all the persons that have negative comments about my country you are just jelaous that you don't live in a country as wonderful as CANADA , I thank God I don't live in central America were people get killed daily and poverty ,gangs, ,corrupt governments rapes,do I need to go on.

    • @caraetabla5835
      @caraetabla5835 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      why do you have to mention central America regarding the negative comments?, do you think there is no corrupt governments in Canada? well I have bad news for you, there are currupt politicians all over the F world. Do you think one day if things go wrong they won´t see that you have latin background. I just hate it when people compare Canada or the US with latin countries. I have friends in Vancouver and Victoria WHO ARE from Canada and they always come to Venezuela to enjoy nature here, and every time they are on the beach , they say "this is the life, people in Canada spend their lives saying that they will go to a paradise when they retire, but they die and never make it real. Why do you think life is better there?, I go to the river all the time, I go to the beach all the time, I do not have much money ,but I live happy where I am.

Im not from Central america, but you sure are so ugly person, really ugly. Shame on you when you mention any region of the world just to make a stupid comparison.

      LiftedX No way it was shot in 2011, because the Pitt River replacement bridge was not even complete when you shot it. The new bridge opened to traffic on October 4, 2009. I'm talking about the bridge at 5:09 of your video. What do you say now?

    • @Cypherus21
      @Cypherus21 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      knurri
      Yup you're likely right as the Pitt River Bridge is under construction in the video. Also, Port Mann was well into construction in 2011 which in the video it has not yet started. I can't believe how much Vancouver has changed, even Surrey now compared to the video. For those flying into Vancouver, I am glad it looks even better than how it did before.
