I don't know why this girl isn't a mega-star with awards up the ying-yang. She's got 10 times more talent in her little finger than you'll find in Beyonce's entire body. What great vocal range and intonation she has, extremely soulful, just impeccable and an accomplished multi-instrumentalist on top of it all. Just spellbindingly incredible.

RIP Townes Van Zandt. As a kid his music was on a local NPR station and that was how I found Townes and this was his big hit. Most people might know a cover version duet from Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson but Townes was the original songwriter and singer. He passed sometime back and heard about it on the web. Ashley Campbell's version is pretty well done. Also RIP to Glen Campbell. He was a close friend to John Denver and used to perform Denver's song Take Me Home, Country Roads. There used to be a video on TH-cam of Glen discusing the passing of John Denver around 1998 during a TV performance but can't locate it today. Saw it the day Glen Campbell passed. I'm a huge Denver fan. He is one of the reasons I became a country and folk music fan. The other was Johnny Cash. That lead me to John Prine, Bob Dylan, Peter, Paul and Mary, Leonard Cohen, Emmylou Harris and also to Kenny Rogers, Willie Nelson, Charlie Daniels, Dolly Parton, Travis Tritt and Reba McEntire. And so many other artists and groups.
You could see the love and pride in her dads face when they played together before his passing. God bless the Campbell family!

Her forthrightness regarding dealing with Glen's Alzheimer's is touching. She doesn't shy away, sharing an anecdote about replacing the capo on his guitar. Very revealing of her honesty in dealing what was I'm sure was a difficult time for her family, and her pride in what she and her family offered musically. I re-watch this video on TH-cam almost daily, it is so charming.
