I am just now watching the video...a few people has already mentioned the sliders but I wanted to mention the servo mount and suspension links...if you run the servo on the chassis you should have the option to install a panhard link and one only have a 3 link suspension setup. Running a 4 link you would want the servo on the axle
Hi mate thanks for your comment. With how low I am running the chassis I cannot seem to fit a pan hard bar. I have a problem with ride height. Suspension travel is very minimal as I lowered it but its still sitting high and can not do much about it... have to think on it more.
I really enjoyed watching your assembly video, although you must be an expert because I don't see any manuals anywhere. Greetings from Italy and thank you very much.
Hi, thanks for your comment. Glad you liked the video. I am no expert, but I am always learning and gaining experience by watching other tutorials, reading and going through the job myself. This was my 3rd custom crawler build. Thats why I got experienced at assembling the thing. What I do, I do by heart and that way, the job always turns out good in a way or another. Hello from Malta! We are close neighbours. Thanks again👍😀
Thank you for this video, this chassis seems great, can you tell me how to adjust the wheelbase from 306 mm to 313 mm? should we change the size off the rear links ?
Hi there. Thanks for your comment. To adjust the wheel base, you can unscrew one side of each link and if you rotate the ball joint heads on the ends of each link, they should tread out, extending the wheel base. Then screw everything back together
Hi noted something strange with the rock sliders I think they are mounted upside down . In that way the edge down is prone to lock to rocks . Just a small detail and these kits have no instructions either . Considering the price Plus shipping and waiting at the moment is under 200 but after May 2021 all items will get 18 % VAT and handling charges this will bring it close to an original Axial SCX10 Raw builders kit which sells around 250 locally . What about quality such as metals used , steel gears or pig metal gears? and finish , play etc is it worth it over an original ? Chinese knock offs sometimes are gems I understand. But it not always the case. The price is to close to a well known original . Thus I’m bit cautious to what I will chose if I want to build a new rig.
Hi Stan, well about the rock sliders you are right but as said I assembled it all in a "temporary" configuration. I have to adapt its wheelbase and other things to the body I will be getting. A lot of people notified me about the rock sliders but my simple reason I put them that way is because it is advertised like that and the body they advertised, hangs over them. I will be flipping them in the right way now. Price, well I got lucky. Still had to pay customs taxes when it arrived, but depends on viewer's country. When talking about quality and ware, really its not bad at all especially for the price. I immagine it is steel gear because there were no signs of ware after a good run and a bit of abuse. What I had to really take care of is lubrication, mainly greasing everywhere because it does not come greased. I will be doing a video with some details. It needs a panhard bar. There are mounts for it. Otherwise I loved it.
Its just something I had laying around. Its good, just struggles a bit at low rpms, otherwise its a burnout machine, always puts a smile on my face. I will save money to buy the fusion someday though. Thanks for the comment bud.
Thanks for your comment👍 this gearbox does not have a brake, the motor acts as a brake. Its free if the motor is not on drag brake mode. Its like a regular 3 gear transmission but more realistic.
Thanks 4 your comment bro. I should really get back to making vids. Life got in the way of things and the biggest problem is financial... cant keep spending all my savings in the hobby had to take a break. I could not keep up due to life changes... Amazingly since I have been offline, my channel has grown quite a lot thanks to new members like yourself. Thank you for appreciating my work friend.😀❤️
Survived all the abbuse I put them through till now. The small drive shaft betwwen the trans and transfercase only broke but I had a regular yoke style drive shaft, shortened it and put it in, again survived ever since. This being brushless sometimes I push it hard a bit.
No you have to disassamble and grease the transfercase, differentials and the main gearbox I put gasket maker between the motor housing and plate and filled the gearbox with engine oil.
Good video bro. Btw i've same kit couple days ago but the problem is front axle (portal) colliding with motor and stuck if full shock travel. Please any trick or tips for me so i can set low in my rig. Tx
Im havin the same prob mate... cant figure it out really... i imagine you would need to get a body which could go lower on the chassis, and raise the ride height to get clearance.
Yeah that's just wrong man. You will learn, we all have to!! In time!! If you want a CMS you will have to remove an upper link and add a panhard rod. The kitchen d includes everything I can see it.
It will not bump steer, it will indeed BIND WHEN THE SHOCK TRAVEL CYCLES. bump steer is from panhard and drag link either not on matched plain, different length from one another or both. With a panhard setup it's scale and that's all. You axle will cycle side to side as compression and rebound occur. The anti squat, link locations and all are very bad on this chassis but to each the own!! Whatever your happy with and believe is working great!! What I once though to be the best I look back and cringe on things I did lol
The gearbox has a plate which I had to drill to holes in to mount the motor with, put the provided gear on the motor shaft put it in the gearbox and installed 2 screws which hold in the motor plate.
@@Anupkulkarni23 I did at first but to be honest, with the motor I am using it revs so much the geatbox was making whistling sounds and was not operating smooth enough. So what I did is, put silicone sealer around the seam where the motor is mounted and took the top screw which holds the motor plate and put engine oil in. Since then it runs like a champ👍
I do not exactly know but I had to make a custom heavy bumper in the front which weighs almost 1kg by itself! So light in the front it was not getting grip.
@@stephenr6427 thanks mate. At this point I put the chassis kit together in a "temporary" manner, meaning I would adjust to the new body I would be getting for it. At this point I had no idea I was getting a power wagon body, it turned out lovely, but I had to remove the sliders, mount the electronics on the transfer case and lower the battery to get the body to fit. I love the body but it is narrow so that kind of screwed me up but never mind, all problems have solutions we just have to think even deeper. Thanks for commenting mate👍
Well technically, from a competition side this is better because it has higher ground clearance and obviously the portal axles give it an advantage over the straight axle like the scx 10 has. From a scale side, the scx10 chassis is better because those axles are more scale and better looking for a scale build like my ram or ramcharger builds. Those are both scx10 chassis and they turned out good. This however is more competitive. Depends on what you are going for, scale or performance. I love both. That is why I purchased both😉😁 thanks fir commenting👍👍👍
Very nice build my friend
Wow! Nice one! Keep it up!!!
Thanks bud loved this build.
Wow that`s really cool! Love it!!

Exelent work, great video bro!)

Should have got this .next purchase. Be great if they would do a 1/8 scale like this
It would be great if they did so. Excelent rig for the price. Thanks👍

Great video, by any chance do you have a new link to AliExpress for the kit? The one provided is no longer working
Im sorry this one is no longer available but you can find similar ones
Would be epic paired up with a hobbywing fusion!

very nice kit, the planetary gearbox stop the car itself without and brake? did the gearbox let the car move freely if we push it?

Hey how's your front axle are they solid they ever break??

Good job!!
Any chance you remember if front axle had to be very low by default not to collide with gearbox/motor?
Had to raise it so it doesnt hit the motor and gearbox
Are the axels and Gearbox good lubrificated ,out of the box ?
No you have to disassamble and grease the transfercase, differentials and the main gearbox I put gasket maker between the motor housing and plate and filled the gearbox with engine oil.
can u list the parts, i wanna build one, but i dont know what to order, help me out please
Links to the product are in the description. Thanks👍

Ok tx mate for the answer. Appreciate it
4-link front and chassis mounted servo, will that not result in bump steering?
I have no other way to go. I have got no space and no need for a lot of suspension travel because of the body I got. Thanks👍
May be room for a panhard rod?! Anyhow, good looking kit

Are the housings cast or machined?
I believe they are machined
