Mike Kruczek, played 5 years in the NFL at QB (mostly backing up Terry Bradshaw), went 6-0 as a rookie after Bradshaw got injured which almost won him rookie of the year, and won 2 Super Bowl rings, fairly decent QB He also never threw a touchdown, 6-1-0 starting record with two rings and no TD passes Personally my favorite Kruczek game was in 1976 where he went 6 for 7 with no TDs or INTs, then got replaced for some reason by Bradshaw who went 6 for 8 with 2 TDs as they butchered the expansion Bucs 42-0, man just could never throw a touchdown if his life depended on it
Cool video idea would be oldest players at each position. For example: Darrell Green played cb until he was 42 years old, even got an interception at that age. Everyone praises a qb for playing at 35+ years old but to be a starting corner in the NFL at 40+ is crazy impressive.
That’s MORE impressive for someone to be playing Corner that age than QB! Corner is a much more physically demanding position (unless you’re Mahomes, Allen or Jackson) and keeping up with these amazing receivers in their early-mid 20s is absolutely insane.
Flutie didn't flop out in Buffalo though. He led the Bills to the playoffs in 1998 and had a hell of a game against the Dolphins but the team came up short. In 1999, the team went with Flutie as their starter......they went 10-5 with him to set them up with a playoff birth and the Bills started Rob Johnson in the final game against the Colts (despite Flutie's greatness, Johnson was the golden child with the big money contract). The Bills beat the crap out of the Colts and Johnson played great......and that's all the Bills needed to start him against Tennessee. Johnson didn't play good at all and got sacked many times but the Bills did take the lead late......then the Music City Miracle happened. In 2000, they went with Johnson as the starter and he led the Bills to a 3-3 record before getting hurt. Flutie came in and started the next week but lost to the Vikings......he then went on a 4 game winning streak that gave them a 7-4 record and a potential shot at a playoff birth. Johnson came back......and they went 1-4 to miss the playoffs. Then Flutie got traded to SD. Flutie went 4-1 to start for SD then the Chargers completely self destructed and finished 5-11......the Bills went 3-13 with Johnson going 1-7 as a starter. Basically, had Buffalo been smart and stuck with Flutie, they had a shot at some greatness and consistency......instead, they kept trying to go with Johnson and it backfired horribly.....so much so that you could argue that Flutie being benched was the beginning of Buffalo's woes until Josh Allen showed up.
Jared Doucet I agree with you 100%. In the NFL, Flutie will win 2 games out of 3 and lead his team to the playoffs. In the CFL, Flutie will win the Grey Cup. The mistake the coaches made was measuring his height. They should have measured his heart.
I lived outside of Buffalo at that time, Flutie was only signed because he played in Toronto and the Bills wanted to attract Toronto fans since Buffalo is a small market. I couldn’t help but notice Tom Compton @1:13 and it looks like you might’ve clicked on him. I went to high school with him and even played shows together with him since we were in bands in high school that shared members.
Id like to nominate rich gannon for this list. Dude was a spot starter for like 10+ years and then gruden turned him into a MVP. Also we all know about the Flutie and Johnson QB battle where johnson was named playoff starter after Flutie led them to the playoffs. But gannon had the same thing happen in KC in 1994. Shottenhimer elected to start Elvis Grbak over gannon and the chiefs lost 14-10

Cowboys fan here. Like so many on here, I loved watching Doug Flutie dating back to BC.
Fluky flutie 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣I giggled
Before I watch, Jeff Garcia is one for me, won a grey cup in the CFL, making probowls in the NFL, I doubt barely anyone knows who that is
Lol….we all remember him..very awkward
He was a great QB for the niners and has a smoking hot wife
I just remember him playing with Calgary in the CFL. One of the teams the Flutie also played for.
Flutie belongs in the football hall of fame.
Yes, he's in college and Canadian hof, but if the football HOF is not strictly based on NFL accomplishments, then flutie belongs.
Foles just has a long recharge time. He has to be nerfed, because his talent is insurmountable
Between the whiplash scene cuts, dense references and sub-second text flashes, I feel like I've been through a 12-minute car crash.
You should do a video of some of the most unique characters in the NFL history.
I thought this would be "weird" players,Ricky Williams,Chad Johnson(Ochocinco),Lyle Alzado,John Riggins,John Matuzsek,some weird dudes!
Nice video
Flutie flakes! When they benched Flutie I gave up on my love hate relationship I had with the Bills since I was a little kid and finally joined my father in his love for all teams Boston. It was good timing in retrospect.
Flutie played pro ball for twenty seasons, and enjoyed some incredible success. He deserves to be enshrined in Canton.
Funny to find Dontari Poe was the pick ahead of Marvin Mitchell, as Poe was the heaviest player to ever throw a touchdown pass. Poe's head coach? Andy Reid.
oh, i was such a Flutie fan when he played in the CFL, in a time when all the teams had gunslingers for quarterbacks, he was the best, it was so much fun
but boy do i remember cheering for him in Buffalo and being absolutely raving pissed when coach Wade (son of Bum) Phillips constantly went back to tall Rob, despite the fact every time they brought Flutie in, he won or kept them close enough to take it, only to be replaced the next week...anyone who remembers the Flutie/Johnson controversy will tell you, Flutie never played bad to require a change, but because he was tall, young and signed to a massive contract (i think i remember that), out came tall Rob to play ok (but rarely better or as good as Flutie)
I couldn’t help but notice Tom Compton @1:13 and it looks like you might’ve clicked on him. I went to high school with him and even played shows together with him since we were in bands in high school that shared members.
Interesting sidenote, Doug Flutie's brother, Darren, also played in the CFL. Although, he was a wide receiver.
38-7!
Glad to see Swole Pole Foles get some respect!
Prior to 1960 a lot of guys played both sides of the ball, called iron man football. Pretty sure Blanda played DB occasionally.
Grbac*
truly some of THE football players of all time
Flutie was incredible in CANADA. We are lucky to have had him up here.
That nick foles season had me thinking he was gonna be elite
Flutie Flakes man, Flutie Flakes 🤣
Not even an eagles fan but foles might be most legendary qb in their history, yes I know about Cunningham and mcnabb but foles got it done‼️
BDN is a legend greatest Eagle of all time. Took us to the promise land
Who!?
As a Canadian I consider Doug Flutie to be the best quarterbacks under 6 ft ever.
This was so much better than a dude’s video I just watched trying to do the same schtick but he sounded like he was making his video for children & never actually showed footage of what he was talking about. Good job.
