When I grew up in the 70s and 80s in North Cornelly, we had two lovely little towns nearby, Porthcawl and Bridgend. Porthcawl, far quieter than those days, remains a really pleasant place to be but it breaks my heart to see how run down Bridgend has become. Years ago I taught the daughter of the former owners of the Stoneleigh Club. By then they were living in Essex.
WOW, just mindblowing , the music you have used is what I listen to and is on my playlist especially at 5.12 my favourite from Once Upon A Time In America ,brought tears to my eyes just watching it. absolutely love the way you have put this video together , especially when the pictures change. incredible . thankyou so much 😊
Hi we spent many years at porthcawl started 1958 ended in1969 tresco bay / newton piont / then lastly in the last big house at the end of the promenade in an apartment !no other building beyond only a large stone wall ,,which we climbed over to get to the secluded beach as no one else new it was there ,,I believe there is a golf course there now ,,,
Thank you so much. I live in Porthcawl now and think it is the best place in the world. Moved here 10 years ago, after having a caravan on "Trecco" for 10 years before that, and would not want to go anywhere else. I have to say though that its a shame those lovely old buildings have gone and been replaced by eye-sores like the "bottle bank". I really wish I had been born here ad remembered it as it was.
Corruption is the simple answer eg Give this one a view 🙏🏻 you could generate a podcast from the information in it 🤔 it never got many views, yet contains much of what anyone needs to form a firm opinion, the on thing I had to redact was Pounders name, but am sure his signature will be recognised 😉. th-cam.com/video/EwQ1Uhoc074/w-d-xo.htmlsi=plrupbNkKymmHCbQ

I should add, thanks for doing this, I enjoyed it very much
Bridgend. Destroyed by out of town shopping and appalling town planning.
vote labour - get bridgend
How beautiful it was, all the streets spotlessly clean.❤

I feel like I’ve been robbed when I walk around Porthcawl after seeing how it used to be.
Amazing.
Thanks glad you enjoyed it. 👍
Just wrote a huge piece about my childhood memories and it refused to save so it is lost!!!! :(
Great pics, porthcawl is being turned into a ghost town, as someone else said, so is bridgend. So so sad. Whats wrong with the world?
