I’m an asperger photographer doing concert, street and convention photography. Picked up a camera and just started snapping everything I see, as it calmed my anxiety. For some reason knew how to capture the moment. I mostly do it because I love it. You get bored, you find something your good at by accident.
I am so glad that you kept going when you felt like you couldn't keep going. If you have any advice for parents of autistic children, please share your ideas with us. It's great to see that our children can have a successful future.
I really appreciate it thanks! ^_^ One advice my mother took was from something she heard from Temple Grandin as advice for parents. To keep pushing me out of my comfort zone little by little.
Hey there.....I am an autistic photographer too struggling to do what I can and want. I do wonder....What kind of photography do you do? Are you more into nature, landscape, portrait etc? How do you sell you work? How do you market yourself? I think I am goo at what I do, but I struggle a lot to earn any money from it. Maybe you can help me with some tips? I like the word "artism" that you used.
I do events and commercial photography mainly, but do have a personal passion for nature and landscape. Also would help to study more on business, sales, etc from either online courses or from books. Currently reading Unshakable by Tony Robbins on the financial side and looking at what other photographers in my field are doing and especially on what they are not doing and why. Last thing I would also say to ask yourself is what is your outcome? What is your why? The reason that will get you out of bed early in the morning even if you have had very little sleep? This is what will drive you through the difficult times where you feel you want to give it all up.
