I was riding in the Tuskegee NF and hit a very "nice" patch of sand, it really was, on one of the forest service roads and almost lost it. Then I got lost and turned around and hit the sandy patch again and almost wiped out in the exact same way as I did the first time. At the time I thought at least I'm consistent.
I haven't read much sand in the past 3 years. Only when I ride in the Oakmulgee WMA close to my place is when I encounter it. Most of my ride is up towards Talladega National Forest and the Piedmont area.

I would rather ride in wet sand any day - MUD? Notsomuch!
Mud just has a mind of its own sometimes 😆 sand scares the crap out of me 😳 I'd probably pick wet sand also.
