I have played this song 1000's of times on an acoustic when I could still sing. Now, I had throat surgery and can't sing anymore so now I decided to learn the lead to this but I got some work cut out for me. Nice job teaching.
Il miglior tutor di Hotel California, complimenti maestro. Poche parole, quelle giuste, e molti fatti. Velocità leggibile e ripetizione immediata del brano. 😊 Impeccabile maestro.
Thankyou great lesson. Just tought my daughter how to play Hotel California and turns out she can sing, not like Dad who sounds like a Banchee, trying to get out of a well. So you helped a wish come through. I thank you..Best of Irish luck to ya..PS, really well explained and very clear on what to do. Well done..
Thanks for a great lesson on the solo. The difficulty for me was where there are two parts, trying to get a clean dissection of the one vs. the other. I'll get it now.
Nice job theres several with this iconic solo i like the way you simplify the last part theres dudes stretching across six flets lol on the E string Don Felder got to admire the way he put the voicing over the chords im thinking as far as Rock solos this one has to be in the top 5 . You have to put Stairway and comfortably numb actually Pagey s live , 73 version theres so many Michael Shenker has a couple. Buck Dharma , Pter Frampton its hard to pick a #1 but this one is close as they come awsome job
The best lesson I have seen. Thank you so much. I've tried for years with tabs, This is the right pace with slow and fast demos in the broken up solo. Brilliant.😊
Thank you for this video, Great Job! I've been playing this song but I know in wrong or different positions from original. Curious how do put together a lesson like this? Do you start with sheet music, tabs, ear, or all of the above? Cheers!

In the third part of the first solo, when he bends the g string, his pinky hits the b string, but when he goes through it slow, he says pinky on e string, I think b string sounds right, thoughts?
I wish someone would teach this lead without string bends----and then later add them as the enhancements. That way, the ear would become accustomed to the changes----where they are, and how they sound, without the complications of bending techniques that are advanced, to say the least.

Thanks for the lesson, what amp/pedals are you using to get your tone? thx
Thank you!!!
That is an amazing tuition its perfect I'll have to try it out maybe get some lighter strings maybe 9 gauge 🎶🎵👍
Sure, it's easier on the fingers. Thanks :)
@@learntorocklive what gauge do you use and how long have you been playing?
@@Podger771 Here I'm probably using 11-49s or 10-46s, and I've been playing for about 13-14 years when I recorded this (8-9 years ago)
@@learntorocklive thanks for the reply so you were only playing 5/6 that time?? That's awesome 🤟🎵🎶🎸
@@Podger771 No problem man. No no, I was playing 13-14y at the time..

I don’t know how but u managed to forget to teach multiple parts of the song
I don't know either man, it was long time ago :) Apologies if something isn't 100% correct. This serves as a good starting point basically.
I wish someone would teach this lead without string bends----and then later add them as the enhancements. That way, the ear would become accustomed to the changes----where they are, and how they sound, without the complications of bending techniques that are advanced, to say the least.
Mike Goldthwaite just move up a few frets at the bends
I like very much this song🤟💖👍
Kudos, but put me off a bit when the first bend is wrong…. It’s not picked, just slid into and bent up.
You should not use olive oil on a fretboard, you should use mineral oil only any kind of cooking oil will go rancid after it soaks in
Not saying it’s bad but can u go slower next time :P
Not really :) This is it :)
facts im lost thats why im in the comments im only a minute in and i cant keep up
@@huntergamblin7022 slow down the video!
Chi ha aggiunto i sottotitoli in italiano poteva almeno piazzarli in alto a destra, invece di coprire quel che succede sulla tastiera!!

Hotel California guitar solo: OMG NO! This should be banned from you tube like Stairway is banned from guitar shops. Give us a break.
Too fast, and you don’t cover all the notes you are playing. You lost me after step 1.
Wayyyyy to fast
