Our hero! Saved us a hell of a lot of work. Couldn't get this computer fixed regardless of how many forums we read through. This was freakin' brilliant! Well done and hope to see more from you in the future.
I was doing good until the regback step .. then the message appeared
The system cannot find the file specified
0 files copied
hello after the cd d:\windows\system32\config it says the system cannot find the path specified. What seems to be the problem?
I followed your instructions and within 5 minutes my issue is resolved. I had spent at least 8 hours between yeserday and today fixing it. Thanks a lot!
Normally watching these kinds of videos doesn't create a solution for me, but this one actually did. I'm incredibly impressed and thank you so much!
Thanks a million! Wish you were closer so I could buy you a beer or coffee. Much blessings 🙏🏾
Thank you so much. Like many others here, you have no idea how much you have done for me. I really appreciate it. This is one of the most important videos I have ever seen. Thank you.
So I get as far as the 11 files being copied into backup, but when I try to copy to regback it says “the system cannot find the file specified. 0 file(s) copied.”
One of most valuable & informative tutorials on this subject matter I've ever seen. A definite keeper. THANK YOU!
In the last commande in regback *.* .. Can't find files , 0 files copied. What is the problem?
I am confused by what I can see on the screen as you talk through the instructions. 1) when you are in the config folder the contents are visible on the screen and there is no regback folder for you to move to, but you execute a 'cd regback' command and mover there. I can't see how this was possible. 2) I checked two of my PCs and the laptop that wouldn't boot and none of them had no files in regback, so I couldn't use this fix. What created the the recovery files in the regback folder on your machine?
I’ve had so many issues recently with my laptop. Really needed it tonight to finish up some work and got this blue screen on startup. Thank you SO much for this wonderful video. Restarted and she started up no problems! Plus I felt like a real computer genius typing in all the codes thanks to you!
You made me look like a hero. I had moved my system to another building due to a power outage. I got the exact same error as you showed and you fix worked perfectly. Took about five minutes to do. Was about to reload the entire operating system. Can't thank you enough!
Guys, to those of you who had issues with the 0 file(s) found error: you can't restore your registry this way anymore, Windows does not support it nowadays. And thanks for the video, man, we would have got away with it too if it wasn't for those dastardly MickeySoft kids...
When in the regback directory and I type copy *.* .. It says "the system cannot find the file specified. 0 file(s) copied."
You have no idea how helpful this video was! Much more useful to watch how to do this process then to read the steps on a article. Definitely earn yourself a sub!
You are a genius!!!! With this tutorial, I was able to bring my PC back to life even when the manufacturer of that machine (Asus) declined doing so. Thank you very much 🙏🙏🙏
config\RegBack>copy *.* ..
"the system cannot find the specified file"
What do i do now?
Thank you, Sir!! Well spoken and detail-oriented dude. I thought i was going to have to throw my laptop out but its back up working thanks to you. Thanks again!
I never comment on videos, but I'm taking the time to comment on yours because it actually helped me get this problem fixed. I am so grateful to you... I had not backed up my files, so I probably would have lost them all if it wasn't for you. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm backing up my files as I type this, lol, just in case something like this happens again.
I found that the command line "copy (star).(star) .." does not find a file however the command line "copy .." will result in the files being copied.
@@strawberrymilkshake112 no. none of the fixes I have found online has resulted in a correction of the error in my computer
Same here. Thanks for the "copy .." it's been such a long time I used command prompt
Man you just fixed my PC and saved all my important files. Thanks very much for this information. You're a hero indeed knowledge is power ❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
What do I do if, when I try to do “copy *.* backup,” it says there’s not space on the disk?
Windows is on my E drive, which I thought there was a lot of space on, but it seems like there isn’t based on what it’s saying. Is there a way to do the backup and move windows safely into another storage location through command prompt?
@@akumadhh3245 Hopefully someone can help. Tbh, I’ve even heard doing an md backup can damage it so idk what to do
Open notepad via cmd then write a few words save as and delete files in steam gamejolt etc
I do not know how I can thank you ... for some time I had this problem and I did not know how to solve it but this morning I watched this video and my pc works again ... thanks!
Man you are the best i was looking to fix this problem all day and with your way it works perfectly thanks 👍👍👍
Um I have a problem, at 4:36 after I enter it says “the process cannot be access the file because it is being used by another process”
When I coppied the files into the back up there was an extra one "userdiff" what's that mean?
Excellent instructions! Accurate details describing the preliminary problems encountered and preise steps for implementing the solution. I followed them exactly and they worked. Many thanks for your outstanding attention to completeness and exactitude. I wish that solutions to other problems that I have encountered with Widows 10 were as good.
This one helps me a lot after trying many times other troubleshooting steps. Thanks man👍
Hi
At the step while copying files to the backup folder, i am getting an error which reads "Data error (cyclic redundancy check)" following which i am not able to copy in the regback folder as well. Could you please help on this.
Hi, i'am from Brazil.
I had tried dozens of tutorials and nothing had worked. I tried in every way to solve the problem on my own for fear of losing my Masters work. I followed the tutorial and did not believe when the notebook turned on normally. Thank you so much
My regback has 0 files? And I'm still stuck in the stopcode. Had to reinstall windows 10 with Hp tech support
I can’t express how I am overjoyed by this simple yet powerful instructions from you.

Why i do becouse i write the comamd cd d:\windows\system32\config and when im press enter i have a inf ,,System can not find the specified path"
Worked great! Thank you! I had to use the directory c: instead of d: to access windows but other than that everything was the same.
Im stuck at copy *.* .. - after hitting enter it throws me that it cannot find a file. what do I do?
When i try to write "copy *.* .." the console in next line says *.* and says that it cannot find such a file. Can someone help? Please
Hi! Thank you very much for making this video! Like seriously, the same happened to me some months ago and what i did was: Install Ubuntu on a different partition (With a higher size than the files i had on Windows 10) once my Ubuntu was ready and stable what i did was to copy the whole "Users" directory from the windows partition to the Ubuntu one. Once the files were safe i deleted the windows partition and installed a new fresh Windows 10, and again when it was stable what i did was to copy everything back to Windows from Ubuntu. Then i deleted the Ubuntu partition and added those free GB to the new Windows Partition. That worked perfectly for me. But i sincerely would love had found your video that time.
Thank you very much again! I had to do a lot of important stuff and i needed a fast solution.
11/10.
Seriously, thanks.
I find this hard to believe. putting back corrupted files from previous windows into a working windows 10 environment and didn't get corrupt system????
Only my windows files were corrupted, all my documents, music..etc files were in perfect state.
So I got to where it says 11 files copied, now when I go to do "copy *.* .." it says that there are no files to copy, so I checked the directory of regback and it says " 0 files". I can't copy anything because there isint anything to copy, anyone have any suggestions?
Guys type in command block this
bcdedit /deletevalue {default} truncatememory
Then exit and restart
Thank me later
What do I do if I do cd d:windows\system32\config doesn’t work and it says “The system cannot find the path specified”?

OMG dude you are a genius, u saved me from my dad lmao. Tysm .
Aeshwanth V Lol same thing but this doesnt work Sadly I am in trouble
I got a “data error (cyclical redundancy check)” when copying backup and “the system cannot find the file specified” when copying in RegBack
What if they wrote after i write thus cd d:\windows\system32\config that they cant find routh?
when copying in the regback folder i get data cyclic redundancy error for one file. And after exiting the BSOD thing continues. Do i have to a hard reset ?
How did you managed to solve your problem then? I'm getting the same error. 🙁
I had witih a friends laptop.
In cmd run chkdsk X: /F /X /R (Where X: is your drive letter) let it run, Manually copy in my case it was the SOFTWARE file and that resolved everything.
All was caused because of a bad update.
Dude, you rock auto update gave me this error and you my friend fixed it... thnx.
Hello! After "cd regback" and "copy *.* .." the system message: no files (regback folder empty...) what is the solution?
i had to hit that like and subscribe right away.. been battling with a server machine for over 3 months now... thanks so much for this video
Hi there: when I get to typing in the system 32 line in the command prompt, I just get "the system cannot find the path specified". Please help!
Thank GOD mate, you just spared me a mouthful from my dad and possibly a few buck as well. 10/10, you just earned a sub :)
I have tried many ways (blogs or videos) but only your solution helped me. The error you showing in your video is relatable to my PC.
A small change in my PC Instead of D, my files are in F still I tried your way and it helps.
Thanks and regards

The system cannot find the file specified when doing the last instruction of copy *.* ,, when in RegBack folder. Any idea as to why? I followed everything and on the last part to copy I get stuck. Cheers!

It says (0 files copied)
Absurdly simple fix, but knowing is everything. Clear explanation - thanks.
Wish I had known this before I had spent 4 days trying to sell my own and would you would pack a check support and find me a brought it over to staples which at this point is recording on their own with some charge and promising me to refund this reset option of this and help me buy a new laptop In a couple of days.... Basically they told me that I had a very bad virus and since all my files have already disappeared I have to go along with them help An advice at this time... Had I known you'll fix 24 hours ago I've already been an entirely different Place this evening
The newer Windows10 versions do not backup the registry files into system32/config/RegBack . You have to manually enable it again in registry and/or set a Task , or use Windows Backup.
I dont comment on Videos. But I can't just leave your video without thanking you for your help. I have been trying heaven and earth to get my Laptop back to working nothing worked but your fix. God bless you brother. Keep up the good work...

If you're willing to delete all your files you can just reinstall windows with a CD or USB-Stick
