      100% a lot of people think good singers have no middle grouns. But like you don't focus on your technique the same way when you're in a professional setting and when you're just vibing. Sure you'll sound better than most people even with low to mid efforts but no one forces you to try to kill it at every song.
      But then again, I do have fun trying to sing a song the best so I also get how that can happen even if it's not to show off but just cuz sounding good and trying to do fun stuff you know how to do can just be fun.
      I'd say assess the vibes lol, if you're in a group of musical theater nerds, it makes sense, if everyone's boozed up, hanging out on someone's birthday and slurring words, maybe not the time for it lol.

    Here's a crazy take : not speaking to one of your parents is not a red flag. I am not sure why some people consider it as one. I think it takes a lot of courage to cut off a toxic parent from your life,it should be celebrated. One of my best friends,has 2 young boys and her mom has been having drinking issues all of her life. When my friend was a kid,she suffered through emotional and some physical abuse when her mom would drink. She had a strained relationship with her but she tried to keep it. Last i heard,her mom grabbed her oldest son's arm and hurt him,he was so scared as well so she cut her off from her life. How can that be a red flag?

      I've always been very nervous about this. I am so lucky to have a partner with a healthy family - I didn't think I'd get to experience that because I thought healthy families would see my unhealthy family as a red flag.

    • @benji0099
      @benji0099 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +83

      It definitely depends on the relationship between the parents and kid. I dated this guy who had a very stable family who fully paid for his college tuition, their connections got him his first job, bought his car, etc. And once he moved a state away, he made no effort whatsoever to call, pick up their calls, visit, or even reach out to say happy birthday. And we only lived 4 hours away. Should've realized earlier that the lack of effort in his familial relationships and lack of respect would be the same as how he approached our relationship.

    • @lovezozo13
      @lovezozo13 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +44

      in an ideal world this wouldn't be a crazy take. i feel like a lot of the people who see not speaking to a parent as a red flag seem to forget that not every parent is a good parent or they think that regardless of how bad a parent is their child should always stick by them and excuse the behavior. for that last part, they may have a toxic parent themselves but feel obligated to stay in contact with them because it was an idea ingrained into them that they shouldn't cut their parents out of their life no matter what (like they owe them). it's honestly sad and i hope more people will realize that some people's parents should not be kept in their lives

    • @evtv304
      @evtv304 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +17

      I think there’s a nuanced position to be had that understands there are certain situations where the parent was the toxic one in that relationship and also vice versa. I would say it’s an orange flag and would prompt me to investigate that more

But a crying baby is no worse to me than the loud people talking and everyone breathing/moving/making any normal repetitive movement/sound. Everything is torture for me but I can't get mad at people for doing normal things. Hot take: tipping a tattoo artist is ridiculous. Like you're already paying hundreds if not thousands for a good tattoo, why should you have to feel pressured to give another large amount of money after paying the amount you agreed to? I usually gift my artist whatever alcohol or weed related items they enjoy, but monetary gratuity I reserve for people who do pretty intense manual labor for a shitty wage.

      @@BabyMango I get what you're saying, but having also been part of the industry in some way for the past 20 years (many friends are artists, and dated a body piercer who owned a studio with his tattooist brother, who is still my artist now). When paying overheads, which is what every person who runs any form of successful business has to do, you build that into your quote to the customer (mechanics do the same, so do graphic designers, et cetera). When an artist has to do a design from scratch, they will charge you a design fee that needs to be paid before you get ownership of the design, meaning you get to see it, but not take it from the shop (lest you are sneaky and try to have their design done cheaper somewhere else). My artist uses only the best quality everything and he freely admits because he earns in one day what most people make in a week he feels it's the least he can do. Not saying every artist makes big bucks, but there are waayyyyy too many people in this industry that shouldn't be touching a machine, and the ones that do it well don't rely on tips as they have clients that pay top dollar for their work without hesitation.

    • @weirdkitten3646
      @weirdkitten3646 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BabyMango Yeah, looks like we're gonna have to agree to disagree on this one. If my waiter friends complain that people don't tip enough, then the response from others is usually, well, you can always get another job if you're not happy with your wages. Now why shouldn't that apply to tattoo artists? At the end of the day it's not the client's responsibility to ensure that the person doing the job makes a living wage; it's the employer's responsibility. If people can afford to tip their artist and feel the need to do so I'm all for it, but a person shouldn't have to feel anxious about going for a tattoo that some spend months saving up for just because they think it's expected that they should give another 20 percent on top of what is not a small sum of money. I also don't tip at a strip club except for the servers cos those girls make bank 😆

I got a huge 7 hr piece and the guy's hands were FUCKED UP and he had to bandage them all up a certain way and bent over all crouched for an entire day of work. It literally destroys them. It's not required but if you respect them and the craft you will most likely feel inclined to show them love. I gave him a FAT tip and he was so stoked. It's a stunning piece that I have on me forever that cost more than my mortgage but it was so worth it. Needed to look up this bacon marketing ploy.... lol you hit the nail on the head. 💯🥓
    "Beech-Nut noticed its bacon sales were stagnating while the sale of the rest of its pork products was growing. This translated to a lot of leftover bacon. Rather than throw it all away, they decided that they needed to find a way to increase sales. This dilemma brought them straight to Edward Bernays, who identified the return to breakfast as a great opportunity to expand the demand for bacon. Bernays knew that the American public was responding well to “health food” campaigns and decided that he needed to make bacon fit into that trend."

    4:50 Incorrect. He’s partially right in that having a great number of smaller portions of cereal is the best way to limit overly soggy cereal, but the key is: milk first, small amount of cereal, eat it, pour more cereal, eat it, etc.
    This way you both control the sogginess of the cereal AND get the flavoured milk at the end.

    I’m conflicted abt the astrology thing. I’m Mexican and I grew up in a spiritual household, and have also experienced and have seen things. I always notice it’s yt people using it as some sort of clutch, and honestly, some of the most insufferable people I’ve met were obsessed with their chart and would judge others based off their chart. I also have always found it weird watching yt people burning sage when I’ve got my copal and have been burning it since I can remember because copal is such an important part of cleansing our household. I sometimes wonder if they understand the history behind burning and cleanings, or if they just enjoy buying collections of tarot cards and rocks.
    Copal, sage, the stars, altars. It such an important part of our culture, and it sucks that people look down on astrology because of it.
    It’s well known many mesoamerican tribes studied the stars endlessly, and that the Europeans burned important books, books where our studies were kept.

      i’m spiritual but don’t believe in astrology itself, bc it’s too focused on defining one’s traits which usually ebbs and flows over time. cleansing energies & such i can understand, even most of religion, but when it comes to astrology, horoscopes, tarot readings or personality types, it’s irritating imo, esp when people tell you the kind of person that you are and the kind of life that you’ll live or etc based on…nothing concrete. to each their own ig

      I’m genuinely puzzled by yt people’s fascination with astrology but I’m even more fascinated by how superficial it very often is for them, and how it’s a trend for them, too, when in my family it’s quite important and sacred. Con esas cosas no se juegan.
      My energy is of pure puzzlement, pero bueno.
      Also, I can find someone insufferable (because you don’t know the context, nor the things these people did to me) and still not hate them. It’s not the astrology itself, it’s a very interesting concept, but it’s the people who use it to hide their own crap. I guess it’s comforting for them to not be held accountable.

YES they have a right to travel by plane, but that doesnt mean people arent allowed to feel a little annoyed with parents that 1. put their child in a very distressing situation (the pressure while flying is much harsher on the ears of a baby than on a grown-up's ears) when there isnt any urgent need for it (I understand people want to visit their family or there might be a funeral they need to attend and they have no babysitters available or something so in that case they have no other options) 2. Don't even try to soothe/comfort/parent their young child and just ignore their screams for hours on end.. Do you really not understand people FEELING a little annoyed towards those specific parents (which btw in 99% of cases doesnt even mean they will act upon their grievance, at most they will just throw a bothered look towards the ADULTS that arent doing anything to ease the pains for both their baby and other passengers) in those situations? lol

      Okay but it should only be limited to like 2 rows, so 2 sets of parents. Babies scare each other awake with wailing all the time. So imagine if there’s 2 parents each with a baby and baby 1 needs to nap but baby 2 can’t stop crying bc it’s sick or something. Then parents 1 request the flight personnel to move the people with the crying baby to the other area but parents 2 don’t want to go bc they paid extra for the baby section seats/ bc they don’t want to move from where all the baby accessibility stuff is.
      Now let’s imagine there’s an entitled mom or father with a baby and a 2-year old, and this child can’t do anything other than watch Coco Melon on full volume. That’s gonna be a whole nother problem.
