Fascinating. There's also the order in which the human brain parses images that works into the whole contrast issue.
The first thing that the brain processes are lines and edges - which requires tonal/luminosity recognition.
The second thing is colors and basic patterns in texture.
The third thing is actually shape recognition which is dependent upon all three forms of contrast being applied in an additive fashion.
One of the reasons that high contrast images have more "punch" is that high contrast means less information to process and thus less time to process.

Great to see you back James. Another great video full of good quality info. We’re definitely lacking more of this type of content on YT. It’s far more engaging than the run of the mill gear reviews etc

Thank you dude - The goal of the YT channel is to put out the information I wish I had earlier in my journey. So many more videos like this to come!

Subscribe only for: "Post-processing is not real photography. Yes, it is." Even if there had not been enough other valuable content - which in oposite there was (thanks for that!). But this one little sentences (answer) give me back my faith that there are still thinking people (you!) among us.

That's the kind of video TH-cam should be filled with, not that indiscernible mix of mediocrity and clicbaiting (also a little on yours, but at least you give us the answer in the preview image). Props to you.
