- In this video, I walk you guys through how I personally optimize and tweak my own PC, as well as show you how I get 1500+ FPS in Fortnite. This is something I did in the past with my current streaming PC, so since I just got an insane Gaming PC delivered, I decided to optimize it live with you guys. I go through all the nvidia control panel settings that I use, which Nvidia driver I prefer, how I optimize Windows and what tweaks I use, as well as some useful FPS Boost Tricks to help your game run smoother, get lower input delay, and more FPS before Chapter 4 drops. Do keep in mind that even if you have ram that is capable of using xmp, it all depends on if your motherboard allows for manual xmp turn on. Some motherboards (like my cheap one haha) has a sort of auto xmp which isn’t as good, but just know that if your bios doesn’t have the option to turn it on, it most likely has a form of auto xmp.
Thx for letting us know, is there any way that turning XMP increases overheating, cuz my gaming laptop would struggle with that A LOT 😢
Yeah I tried to turn xmp a couple months ago and my pc didn't start but I have 3200mhz

@@iconictotal Probably because your motherboard is incompatible with 3200mhz ram. Look up the specs for your motherboard online and it will show which ram speeds it is compatible with.

Hey Jerian. Loving the video so far, but I just wanted to clarify on a technical error you made when talking about POSTing;
I took a 2 year networking course in high school and one of the first things we learned in the basics of IT portion was that POST (power on self test) should happen when you turn on your PC. It's the motherboard's way of checking that everything is working and is completely normal. If something bad is found during the test, usually you will either get some beeps from your motherboard or see some LED indicators on your motherboard telling you some piece of hardware isn't working properly (or maybe you just removed something). However, the test itself is completely normal, so don't worry. It's usually pretty obvious when your PC is going through POST because you should see the motherboard manufacturer logo on the screen, sometimes with some text on the screen telling you what buttons you can hit to do something (like enter BIOS) before the test finishes and Windows (or whatever OS is installed) takes control.

If you use the custom install for the Nvidia drivers, you get the option to perform a clean install too.
its clean install isnt good, DDU is much better and much more recommended

You should be able to record the bios using the capture card if you have the cable plugged into the MOBO and not GPU.
Assuming you have a HMDI/DP port available in the MOBO.
Reason for this is because the MOBO doesn’t often use the GPU to display the bios.

Also keep in mind that your system power requirements are supported by your power supply. Al these setting will increase the power needed. You will have a problem if your power supply cant support the energy needed

i do everything because how much i tweak my laptop daily i went from 1o fps in pubs and 30 fps in creative and now i get 100 fps in pubs and 170 to 200 in creative with years of finding tweaks

I know he doesn't get into detail about ingame settings but they just released their own take on AMD's FSR called TSR. I assume it works similar to FSR and it does wonders I can play at higher quality settings besides performance mode while still maintaining acceptable sharpness.

@@RfHide if ur fortnite runs good then don't do anything unless ur starting to see performance loss. You can try AdamX, ChrisTitusTech or even EverythingTech.
you should make a video on ggOS. it's a custom windows build that is already extremely optimized and stripped. a lot of pros use it.

I have a HP Motherboard and XMP isn’t an option on the list and my ram was advertised at 3200mhz but at default 2666mhz and I have no clue what to do 😢
Hp doesn't allow to enable xmp because there is a risk that the pc will be ruined and they dont want to pay warranty

I have a 4090 too and you should compare performance mode and dx12 and see which you think is better on high end PC. Dx12 looks amazing and honestly feels the same as perf mode to me
fortnite is cpu bound, dx12 is overall better, every pc is different and some pcs will get better fps on perf mode and others on dx12
Performance mode mostly makes ur fps higher if ur pc is bad but if ur pc is good then there is no point of using performance mode

I was averaging about 170 fps but after I did everything that I followed on the video I dropped to a stable 70 fps

For all those who still are worried about enabling xmp, It will not and i mean WILL NOT affect your ram you just have to enable it to get what the manufacture rated it for.

Jerian, To help you out, you always want your PC to POST, which is shorthand for complete Power-On Self Test (POST). If you get beeping sound and cannot get to your BIOS configuration, then the PC did not POST (or Complete POST). If no beeping or display occurs, then system did not POST at all. What you should have said is you want your PC to POST, which is the exact opposite of what you said.

Power management mode is a misconception, all it does is constantly use max clock speeds thus consuming more power than it needs to, it just boosts normally on adaptive and maximum wears out the gpu
True. Same thing is true for most of the Windows settings. The only things that are worth changing imo is XMP and a few things in NVIDIA Control Panel

I always think that Fortnite takes 10% skill, 20% gadgets like keyboard/mouse etc 70% pc specs
The one point with update the graphic drivers isnt for everyone because the latest drivers are made for the new graphic cards and if you have an older one and it works like how it should then the latest drivers will probably drop your fps

I wish I could do this but my pc is to old but keep up the good work man
for advanced section -> ai tweaking , you can set the dram frequency to whatever is the advertised speed and then if your pc comes up with some typa screen that will say some text that it doesnt normally (you will recognize it because the screen wouldnt normally show up) just click whatever button it says and put the dram frequency lower. KEEP IN MIND, your cpu may not be able to handle the advertised speed, if you got any questions or need help lmk and dont worry if the screen comes up, if your monitors simply dont boot up then just turn your computer off and back on until the screen shows up.
For me it says posted in safe mode when I turn xmp on or (D.O.C.P) and it just lets me boot back in my bios and idk what I’m doing lol I just watched this video and it happened
