I actually think this is still good for roamer chou. Think about it, punch an enemy hero 2 times with his passive, reduce someone's defense by 60 in the late game WHILE BUILDING TANK ITEMS. I guess the shorter kick distance sucks but -60 PHYSICAL DEFENSE IS NO JOKE

EXP: Chou (-60 flat pdef)
Jungle: Dyrroth (-75% pdef)
Roam: Jawhead (+10% all damage from passive, +6% from Focusing Mark)
Gold: Irithel (-40 flat pdef)
Mid: Nova for playing hide and seek
Grand total: -75% pdef, -100 flat pdef, +16% all damage. You need 400 pdef to survive with 0 pdef. Anything less than that, you have negative defense. If they buy Malefic Roar you'd need like 640 pdef to avoid negative defense.
And that's just Malefic Roar. It gets exponentially worse with Hunter's Strike and Heptaseas in the mix.

Kicking your target to your friend is just an art, sometimes you could do error (wrong target to kick) but you overcome it. Chou damage is just kick and he's dead anyway with your damage, you can kick anyone to any direction.
But more hero pool for exp isn't that bad maybe, since exp has the least meta hero currently

I think the passive adjustment give more benefit to roam chou than exp chou. Penetration only benefit for one hero while teammate can benefit from def reduction. I just wish they increase base S2 shield a bit with this adjustment.

2nd skill physical PEN bonus was only affecting Chou, while Physical defense reduction means that it’s affecting the enemy. Which means this could open some new gameplay..
-60 physical defense for the whole team to abuse. Imagine this, late game when your Chou kicks the enemy to the Marksman? Insta delete.
So Dyrroth and Chou will have an anti def collab at this one, add Hilda that can do another 24% hybrid def reduction at full stack, -99% def + -60 flat def is going to hurt, it would feel like you are getting hit by true damage.

No its not, revamped phoveus can't counter dash heroes again
The current one is still better. Manual activation is always more viable than now more uncontrollable one. Defense reduction and penetration is just the same, it's just your allies with the same damage type can also benifit from it. But Chou is meant for fast combo and him stacking passive for 2 times is enough time to melt him in the late game so I think the +20 isn't gonna cut it. The passive now is reliable as it fills fast but I don't think it will lasts long knowing Moonton.

Actually there may be a solution. Rather than giving him cc immunity in the 2nd phase, make the casting uninterruptable. Sure the skill does not stop, but he will not be able to use spells as he is actually cc'd

As an Argus main I have grinded my skills to near perfection, and I can utilized my heroes skills to the max, theres only on one... thing... That scares me and it sure as hell ain't chou

I'm okay with all the adjustments (I even like his buffed passive now) but they should've kept the distance of chou's kick, it's way harder to kick someone out of a teamfight so you can pick them off alone now.
But your team can follow-up you easier if you just panic kick due to less distance.
I think this chou as roam will struggle but still have it way def reduce will help some fast burst hero kill at least tank first in 5 v 5 situation more easily... But still i hope he can have abit more radius on ult kinda hard to aim where the ult landing....

And i think Antique Cuirass can still reduce Chou's damage output to some extend.

This Buff is Good If Chou doesn't need to hit an enemy for his last phase of first just to reset the second skill so he has mobility

With this, i guess Exp Chou can be playable now but with nerf damage unlike before because Chou mainly relay on his 2nd skill to burst someone because of the added Pen but with that inserted in his passive Chou can now balanced his build while still bursting mage and Mm unlike before where you almost and often relay on full dmg build chou to burst them and be squishy in teamfights only lasting 10 seconds💀

Was actually hoping for better skill cool downs because most of the physical burst items currently in the game that chou uses don't add cdr. (Hephta and BoD) I didn't think they would apply the cdr on his passive though. (Well not cdr but they made it easier to trigger which practically does the same.) So this definitely a win.
I used to main chou back when he was played as tank. This although i like it for exp i feel the passive is procing too often with 5m range so i think they will nerf it and increased how much distance you need to walk

I dont think it will affect roam chou that much, sure u lost some ult range but u still have 4 dash on top of knock up. Chou will still have his roamer spot, it just becoming slightly harder to land ur ult
Also that phys def reduction by simply doing enhanced basic attack, i personally says that it's an overall buff for both sides
I wish they add Phoveus gaining shield as passive like before...

i think yawi would still use this but maybe in a burts build with direhit or conceal since the jungle is utility and sometimes paired with a utility as well so to add some damage to the mid and goldlane then you could have a burst roam
Dang early game 32 armor reduction lvl 1? -34,-36,-38,... -60 at level 15
Even saber is just on -15 at level 1

But CHOU who is like a mobile version of saber where its passive is like 2nd skill enhanced combined with armor reduction in just one skill. not to mention it can be triggered in a combo 4 times.
30+(2*15) is broken, this is 60 at max level (with armor emblem it could ignore armor up to 80)
20+(1*15) is reasonable (no stacks). That would be around 40 at max level. (this is 60).
for comparison.
Saber is also around 40 armor reduction with 20 apen. (60)
silvanna around 30 armor/mr reduction with 20 mpen. (50)
Not to mention damage AD scaling of chou is insane.
30% armor reduction its high as dyrroth so in theory chou doesn't need penetration no more because of armor reduction there is a chance for chou player to use more cd reduction build on chou

This is a buff to his roam, but nerf to his exp which was already in a bad place.. Chou now cannot be built full damage cause if you think about it he will need to fight longer to get the same dps as he has before.

If they add lifesteel on his passive then he's out of this world. But I think he is more capable on jungler role now.
For me, what makes chou hard to play is because his ult doesn't immune anymore and now everything can cancel it.
The def reduction be tweaking at this one, not only Chou benefits from the anti def anymore, any physical attack allies does too, imagine getting a 2 stack flat def reduction from Chou + 75% percentile def reduction from Dyrroth, shit it's gonna hurt real bad, especially when it's a marksman is free hitting, even a tank won't last 5 seconds.
I guess this change is reasonable, chou has always been walking that weird line between being a somewhat capable exp laner and a good setter roam, looks like moonton is telling us that chou belongs in exp lane
And with that change, Chou is going to be one of the most deadliest pickoff roamers after Franco and Kaja cause of DEF reduction now lol

Nerfing his ult was just an "Ew" for me. Chou doesn't have any sustain skills to place him on Exp lane. The most obvious way to play him is with his macro playstyle and kicking enemies on his team or turret. Removing Chou as a roamer will just kill the creativity of many players and playing him as what Moonton wants him to be will place Chou on most infamous hero.
One combo will be kinda being less used
