Rafi Sahab, according to one report, had a habit that his songs during rehearsal were very average type but while recording all his diamonds he used to open. Many singers do it and they will open up their best at the last minute and never use it during rehearsal. He was a versatile singer with no match. Lata Didi said in many interviews that range and melody of Rafi Sahab at high pitch was great and hardly any singer could reach that level with melody. Asha ji once told in 80s on DD interview that people may get singers like her and Lata Didi at least nearby level though not as versatile like both of them but it is next to impossible to get any singer nearby Rafi Sahab.
