  • This bezel setting is to be used for the next upcoming video, on making closed ring shanks cut to the proper length for the ring size needed, so I figured, it would be a good idea to also show a video on the bezel setting. I hope you enjoy it and don't foget to share it with your group and friends, Thank you for watching.

Thank you so much for doing this video you went through the whole thing from making the beds out to putting it on the back plate and put in some twisted wire around it. And you also showed me how to use the hummingbirds. God bless you my friend thank you so much for sharing your talent

Thank you for all of your videos. The hummingbirds I bought from you swirl amazingly well!! I recently made a bezel and backplate for a stone, soldered the decorative wire on and the nail but noticed the backplate had somehow bowed inwards so the stone rocked when I tried to set it. I removed it and tried to see if I could get the silver to flatten but I only succeeded in marking it and ruined it I think. Why would the backplate bow inwards like this? I used 26 gauge sterling from Rio. Any help or advice would be so appreciated. Please keep making your videos. We learn so much from you! Thank you

Thank you for watching my videos, now the problem of bowing the backplate could be for different reasons, what I think is if the bezel wasn’t flat then the backplate bowed to that shape so make sure to flatten the bezel before soldering. However, in order to fix it you should lay down the pendant on a hard flat surface, take a wooden dowel (or a piece of wood) and hammer gently to flatten the surface, any markings on the inside it won’t matter because the stone will cover it, for any markings on the back you can sand it off and polish it.

You don’t have an email to contact you but I would like to know how much your hummingbirds cost and where did you get the metal holder for your fire brick. Also, I watched your videos on cutting Cabochons and would like to buy your How to Cut Cabochons. This was an excellent demonstration. Thank you.

Do you ever feel a tiny bit guilty setting delicate stones such as opal and peridot in rings and bracelets, knowing how hard people can be with their hands?
