I ordered some open stock as well, after getting the same pure pigment set. I got Violet Lake because it *used* to be Perelyne Violet, but the tube I got was a mix. I actually got a refund from the seller, because of the discrepancy, but to be fair it is nice. So you were right on thinking it looks like Perelyne Violet! I also have the PR207, the PR209, the PY138, the PB60, and that amazing Cobalt Black. I have gotten the speckling too, with different brands -- mostly with certain pigments which are extremely fine. The worst speckling paint I have is W&N Aqua Green Phthalo, the special one that's not got a pigment number because it's an automotive pigment. It speckles horribly! In fact I've mostly experienced that with phthalos.
Thank you, this is a truly great video. I bought the 34 set of pure pigment and a set with the mixed colors. I thought it would be great for someone like.me.who is a.beginner. It is and it isn't.. It's nice to have so many colors for the cost. But because of the strange color names and because so few YT artist actually use Mission Gold on their.palettes it's sometimes difficult to follow alomg.with tutorials for.mixing and painting pictures.
I heard somewhere that mission uses alot of dyes in there colors. So that might have a effect on lightfastness over time. Does any one know?? Thank you
I so appreciate your video, I'm learning more about pigment mixes and the difference effects - thank you so much! 🤗🌹
The colors are so vibrant!
Absolutely that’s the one thing that is consistent with mijello paints is how vibrant they are!!!
really like that marine blue, but all the blues are really nice 😀
yay.. can't wait to watch.. I love Mission Gold..!!

Actually, PR207 is available from a couple of manufacturers. I think it is called Quinacridone Red as well.
Interesting I’ve never heard or come across this pigment before
@@MinaDoesArtStuff I have it in Qor, but I like Mjello's better. I do prefer PR209 though.

My favorite is always red brown in this set…
PR207 is quin. scarlet. Schminke calls it red light.
