Great job on this. Why would anyone give this a thumbs down?? Recording Def Leppard is no easy feat when you're trying to capture all those parts and layers.
This was my favorite song off this album when it came out in 87 I think it was and this is now my favorite version of that song! I could hit repeat a million times!
0:55 those clean chords with vibrato bar are one of my favourite things in this song. Other covers they simply just miss it. You made your homework with this cover and it shows!
It's not all of the guitar parts but it doesn't matter you still did an incredible job. Also, i can tell you learned this on your own which is even more impressive. Keep up the great work!
It is not...all of the parts...the rhythm guitar is the part I want to hear starting at 3:35, which to me is the best part of the song...brings me back to the 80's everytime I hear it.
first of all, this is terrific work! nice job. this song is a great example of why Def Leppard's writing (with the help of Mutt Lange) was so superior to anyone else's back in the late 80s. Hysteria isn't so much a song as it is a composition. instead of using fifth chords and power driving their way by, they instead used chord fragments, at different intervals, and let them ring out. it also explains why it's so hard to play this song by yourself without simplifying the chord structure. with so much going on musically, it's easy to understand why this song is so captivating. it's almost like a more pop version of Rush. anyway, thanks for posting it. very nice work.
I love the way u hv the Guitar 1, Guitar 2 n bass sounds put together. As if Phil, Vivian(Steve in his time) n Rick....are in your studio sans Joe. Amazing! Damn good job!
Goodevening sir, first off let me state I am a huge fan. Second off, WOW! This song has so much going on and the whole Hysteria album was recorded using a Rockman...and you did an absolutely fantastic job!! I have no idea where you live, but I would jam with you anytime, any day, anywhere my friend. Please keep this up.
Thank you so much for your kind words. The whole Hysteria album is such a masterpiece and I feel lucky to have heard so many of the songs on the radio back in 1987 -1988. Rock on!
The song Hysteria took if I remember right about 2 years because of how complex they wanted the song to be to make it so perfect, with 2 guitarists there are 10 different guitar parts in the song because they wanted to sound so different than it being just 2 people
This is great! Nailing the tone is so hard especially when all I have is overdrive, reverb, distortion, and a cheap start style guitar with a cheaper donner amp
Thanks, but you can get really close if you put some time in it. Remember that a lot of the guitar parts were originally recorded through a rockman amp - which wasn't considered good sound back in the days. Keep rockin' and cheers!
I'm sure he did add a 4th guitar part in the choruses, I think they sit further back in the mix but listen closely you can kinda hear it. Anyway fantastic cover.
For clean tone arpeggios, Dyna Comp > Line 6 M5 (Boss Dimension model) > Flashback Delay. I don't really remember exact setting. But it's pretty simple, moderate level compression with Chorus (Dimensioni) and clean digital delay repeating 2 to 3 times. I hope it helps!
I don't know if there's a track available. But if you google for Midi file for Hysteria, you can find some for free. I downloaded one of them and imported to Logic to use only Drums for this video.
How is it that I've heard this song over half a million times since I was in 7th grade and it's still so damn good.
Cause it’s Def Leppard.
It is a masterpiece.
Because well written, well produced music ages well.
63 and still love all the layers Def Leppard does!
Yes! Layers of guitars and layers of voices too!
@@mrwolfsang So many hooks!

People hate what they don't understand.
One of the greatest guitar melodies ever created!! Musical genius at wirk
Awesome job! Hysteria is in my top three of all-time favorite songs. Takes me back to fall of ‘89 and my first love. This was our make out song!!
Nothing short of sensational. I have listened to this many many times and shared far and wide.
Thank you so much, I really appreciate that!

So good! Perfect track to sing to. I couldn't help it but to sing Joe's part.
Lol, unintentional Karaoke track! It makes me wanna sing too. Cheers!
Phil Collen and Steve Clark were a pair of guitar royalty!

True, technically this version is more of how they would play live with two guitar players. Cheers!
Wow nice sounds
Thank you!
you should make a step by step tutorial of each part
Thank You! Great Work.
Good one mate!! 👍👍

Amazing. How did you figure all the parts out?
Some by ear, some by random youtube tutorials... Thank you!
okay so I had The Ecstasy of Gold playing on Spotify and I didnt know that
it elevated this to 9000
Sounds real GOOD! :)

Misfiring system?
Nice job buddy!
awesome job! subbed for the boss me-50 lol
Thank you! LOL, ME-50 is one solid unit. Sounds a lot better than people give credit for.
Nicely edited…
What effects are you using for the guitar on the intro? I love it
Intro arpeggio is with Dyna Comp for moderate compression, Line6 M5 for dimension (chorus), and flashback delay. Cheers!
Which pedals listed in the description was used for the clean tone in the intro?
For clean tone arpeggios, Dyna Comp > Line 6 M5 (Boss Dimension model) > Flashback Delay.
I don't really remember exact setting. But it's pretty simple, moderate level compression with Chorus (Dimensioni) and clean digital delay repeating 2 to 3 times.

@@mrwolfsang Thanks a lot
My favorite part starts on 0:58
Awesomeness.🤟🏼👍🏼☝🏼Have u tried it on a Jackson? Might not be your thing, just curious.
I don't have a Jackson. I do need a super strat though... but I'm leaning towards Charvel or Suhr. Thanks!
@@mrwolfsang Try a Jackson. There is no other guitar that can capture their sound better IMO
Are you using the Boss ME-50 for the clean parts and the rhythm parts ?
No I didn't use Boss ME-50 on this one. Clean was Eleven Rack and the Distortion was from Katana I believe.
