Such a solid video, dude. A concept that doesn’t get enough attention. People assume that because you’re not inventing something out of whole cloth that it somehow makes you a lesser artist or less creative and I even struggled with that in my early years. But I eventually realized that it’s great to utilize an influence that is meaningful to you, investigate what makes it meaningful and figure your own way into it and how it fits into your work and communicates your own idea(s).
Nothing great is really created purely from scratch anyway, all of the great art that’s enhanced your life was inspired and influenced in some way by something else.
I definitely think that if you take enough disparate ideas and contextualize them through your vision, that eventually you’re making something that’s never been made by anyone else and that’s a brand new original thing now.

And obviously, your word has very powerful imagery. That doesn’t just happen by lazily ripping other people off. The work you’ve put into your craft and voice is quite clear. That’s rad.

Thank you! Yea man, I believe that all of us start out using things that influenced us to create. As we grow into our art, we become more comfortable leaning into our eccentricities. Each generations builds on the greatness of the last one!

i'm so pleased to see that your work centers around portrayal of people, characters. it doesn't involve flashy herky-jerky complex camera maneuvers to intensify action but instead goes deep into the humanist of the performers
    very rich results

Thank you! We try to make the work as visceral as possible without getting overindulgent. It’s definitely an interesting balance

I’m not a film maker I know next to nothing about shots, I use to be a musician and I dabbled in the engineering side of things, composing to mixing and master. And as someone who enjoys art in its different iterations, I have to say the way you’ve shot your films, the lighting, colours, the focus. Very very top tier I think it’s beautiful
