Ah, yes, the topic of bows in cotw 😁 If I have any bones to pick with them, that would be one of the subjects I would choose (I'm with you on the recent update myself btw haha). Everything mentioned here is correct about the game (distances, wind direction and uphill/downhill shots). There is only one crossbow in game, so variation is non-existent, but the point remains the same with regular bows (and bullets for that matter); penetration and distance mostly comes from the velocity of the bolt/arrow, and not so much from the grain (which really only effects the strength/stiffness). 3Messenger7 did a whole video on the bow perks in the game and discovered that the 60/65/70 pound bows seem to make no difference, only the arrows. In real life, I assure you (from experience) this is not the case. I can get nerdier, but you get the picture 🙂Again, it seems if you're looking for an action packed time; cotw. Looking for a more genuine experience? woth. Nice shots on the flying turkey, the bison, black bear, pronghorn, and of course that gold Merriam turkey!. Thank you so very much for a shoutout and it sounds like that gnocchi was heavenly! Great info, and great edits!
haha ... greetings my friend, i can tell ya, the gnocchi were definitely the best thing at that moment, otherwise i wouldn't have mentioned them heroically :D I've never really taken a close look at the bow situation in COTW. I think I've only noticed a minimal difference between class 1 and class 9 in the bolts so far. But as far as I remember, that was only a small achievable distance at most. the general implementation is very weak physically and seems rather lovelessly random in relation to reality, I can also confirm that. no problem for the shoutout, always happy ... just make sure that my 7 million viewers don't spontaneously break down your door kekw
@Enaxity_ Bring em on!! Haha I find it interesting that cotw hasn't added to their collection of crossbows, as it seems to be fairly popular. Still a great game and will always love the world's they create. As time goes on though, the realism is what the core audience seems to crave, so I suspect that will be the future. Cheers as always my friend!! Keep up the good work!!
