As past PT Rex main I see some flaws: 1: you didn’t use red herring, it makes you outrunning all Apex’s in this fight 2: you didn’t equip balanced tail, that makes it very hard to counter turn, 3: you equiped Charge bite and didn’t used red herring. 4 bone break is against faster opponent like Bars and Carcha just better 5you didn’t t equiped endurent hide against the slower Apex’s: it increases you trot, but also your turning How to improve: ->always red herring ->for Bars use bone break, wait out the cooldown and then just facetank ->use more headbut, it screw up escaping attempts of your opponents ->equip balanced tail ->use additional to turn in place, walking backwards and turn, it makes tail riding you almost impossible
Sorry not to spam, but imo I think the difference between the two rexes is how they engage fights. PT Rex excels at ambushing targets and taking them down quickly , OG rex feels like a brawler
Also against that spino… as a rex I always try to simply force myself all the way into them (pause) as I’m biting so that it lands with their body, imo the headshot damage isn’t worth risking missing your bite and letting the spino get more hits in. This is also another fight where bonebreak pretty much seals the deal, if a rex keeps a spino bone broken, unless the spino gets lucky its pretty much over from there 75% of the time, the spino just cannot tailride or out damage a rex when its bone broken.
Ok but WHY is rex the big dumb facetanker? Trikes have a massive armored head, and are huge, quadrupedal animals. They should be the ultimate dinosaur with facetank

Honestly crushing bite is so underrated even on vanilla rex, if you would’ve used it in some of these fights you could’ve just facetanked from there and won most of them.
If both Rexes have the same HP and weight, PT Rex will always be better. It can out-damage the OG Rex just by using charged bite in the first exchange and simply face tank its way through the fight. Also it can get a speed advantage before the fight begins by using red herring so the OG won’t be able to avoid the charged bite.
Wouldn’t a facetank+deep rumble vanilla rex facetank it though? And also what if both are using bonebreak instead, etc? I think it’ll always be close if they’re using similar builds due to the similar stats.

12:27 Bars has a bit of an issue where a good portion of the tail completely lacks a hurtbox. Now, obviously this is not a good thing because it is a tail attacker, so you just cant hurt it where it thrives sometimes. Hopefully it will be changed in the bars TLC coming soon

The biggest problem with this video is that you never used bonebreak bites on either rex. Bonebreak mainly makes opponents freak out because they're stuck next to your head, less experienced opponents just straight up try to run once bonebroken, which is their doom.

Use Red Hering more in your Apex fights, you can run while you use a Rumble and charge a bit then turn into a dino. PT after landing a Full a charge bite with Rumble, Will beat a OG rex with rumble 100 percent of the time. 50/50 if its a facetank rex Even just a quick pop for a burst of speed is enough to run down a carch.
@jebbus1497 Alright then, running away is great, just a straight speed boost tho. I have you considered using it to RUN towards the opponent with a full Charge Bite or a BB. It takes 1 second to crouch and activate. Never is a Speed boost bad.
Stego, Duck, and Bars all need a TLC update. Very little build customization on them, hide-wise at least. * Duck and Bars especially since they're changing their subspecies, making the +5% damage when wet the best option on duck and taking speed/defense bars away.
The most fair way to see which is better is to have 100 fights with each playable including modded ones on every single spot on the map, repeated with variable connection strength on multpile servers
With the new feathers an duck tlc could be nice but a new model and abilities for spino like an lunge attack (underwater or in water) or an claw barrage would be cool, and a model change for eo since pt eo is basically the better looking one
With spinos you wanna stick to the side of them and just bite them and if they try to move just stick with them like they try and run you run with them and they try to precision walk to get to you you just do the same and stick onto his body - even if they do get out of your body latch attack you should be able to get enough bites off that puts you at the advantage
Pt Rex is my favorite. I love how they leaned into the ambush nature of the Rex giving it a very fun playstyle. I wish it had more stamina tho. Every fight is a battle against your opponent and your stamina bar 😅
Actually og rex tankier with facetank ability that decreases incoming damage to head and chest by %30. With call ability its also decreases incoming damage by %20. Both means %50 which decreases incoming damage to its half at facetanking.

If played well, PT Rex is way stronger because of the 150 charged bite dmg and how good of a burst dmg dealer is
I love both Rexes but I prefer vanilla Rex more, it just feels like a powerhouse which Rex is supposed to be. Having bonesnap, facetank, and stomp makes you feel strong, PT Rex only has kicks and tail attack which is good but I see a lot of players able to just tail ride them and easily avoid the kicks. Stomp does heavy damage plus AoE which is amazing against anything smaller than you. I remember killing 2 Ceratos with 1 stomp. Bone Snap also underrated, sure it uses a lot of stamina but if you’re able to land it the fight is over, it’s definitely better against large and slow moving creatures but it’s also very effective against Gigas, hear me out, usually a Giga will start the fight by popping its buff call then either charge towards you or charged its bite, just charge your bone snap and they will either have to back off or just get hit. And anything you hit with Bone Snap that’s around your size or smaller is pretty much dead meat. Lastly facetank, it’s just a pretty good defense ability which is great against other Rexes than use bonebreak and Eotrikes. If you are able to pop a deep rumble and running facetank, you will kill almost anything that attacks you, Gigas, Eotrikes, Ducks, an unskilled Bars player, and even Deinosuchus.
iirc vanilla rex is stronger stat wise, but pt rex is def more fun to play in my opinion and they can both win the same fights just different playstyles

That spino wouldve been easy meal lmao, you made one fatal mistake, wich is moving out of your position, if you move out of your spot your standing in its game over coz rexs turn isnt the best as we all know, so all you gotta do is activate X turn and stay in place while turning in place, and getting hits on the spino, if he makes the mistake turning his back on you then its game over for him cuz most spino players cant turn that quickly, while hes trying to reach u u just keep turning with him or walking or running with him so u get his ass, thats the most easiest way to get a spino down, ive been in PoT since it came out and even before where u only were able to watch ai dinos and customize your skins and all that, so im kind of an OG experienced gamer you could say, thats why i know some good tactics on how to defeat specific creatures😋😋
I don't know what happened, but one on one, Spino can't beat a Rex, I think you missed very easy hits. But I don't know if you couldn't just wait for it and connect each bite or maybe you had to follow some rule. but in that battle a rex kills a spino with 3/4 health equal to a sharphorned EO
Pt rex is stronger, in a facetank the only thing you have to do with an og rex is push forward, you have to bite the og rexes body not it's head, the damage is the same but pt rex bite lands faster, now if you had abilities into he mix, the og rex stomp is so easy to dodge all you have to do is charge your bite run in see if he does his stomp cause is he does then just turn and then go in for the full charge bite then just facetank, if he doesn't stomp you win either way, the pt rex also can out maneuver og rex fairly well, the turn radius for pt is better, against other apexes pt rex counters them all with the exception of pt giga being on par with pt rex, otherwise nearly everything can kill og rex with enough time or tailriding, final verdict is PT by a long shot, if you lose to an og rex in a 1v1 with pt rex I'm sorry but it's a skill issue, it's quite literally the easiest fight to win, if you don't believe me I've got plenty of proof on my own youtube(not advertising) also great video gun!!
In my experience, og is MUCH stronger bc of its facetank and more dm with the default bite i think (In a 1v1 against the pt rex) Pt looks way better tho

Spino is the apex that really takes some skills to play. I respect good spino players more than good trex players imho

Pt rex is stronger, in a facetank the only thing you have to do with an og rex is push forward, you have to bite the og rexes body not it's head, the damage is the same but pt rex bite lands faster, now if you had abilities into he mix, the og rex stomp is so easy to dodge all you have to do is charge your bite run in see if he does his stomp cause is he does then just turn and then go in for the full charge bite then just facetank, if he doesn't stomp you win either way, the pt rex also can out maneuver og rex fairly well, the turn radius for pt is better, against other apexes pt rex counters them all with the exception of pt giga being on par with pt rex, otherwise nearly everything can kill og rex with enough time or tailriding, final verdict is PT by a long shot, if you lose to an og rex in a 1v1 with pt rex I'm sorry but it's a skill issue, it's quite literally the easiest fight to win, if you don't believe me I've got plenty of proof on my own youtube(not advertising) also great video gun!!
Pt rex used to be awsome now it got og rex treatment they're on the same level but pt rex is a much better ambush predator
