You clearly can't play if you say so... If you compare Bach, Mozart, Beethoven and Chopin you can't say whose music is considered more advanced, difficult or technical. It takes years of practice to play their tunes perfectly and after a few years of playing you'll start to realize that every composer has his own way of speaking through the music. They are all unique and equally difficult. No composers' music is more easy or difficult compared to others.
Invincible uh... what? I’ve played cello for about 8 years and I can tell you right now bach tends to be wayyyyyy more difficult than mozart most of the time.
@@icedviking4485 Yeah nah. Their arpeggiation is really impressive, but It's still miles away from Bach's compositional abilities. Also he was a Lutheran so he probably would shun all metal LMAO
Agreed, this show was incredible. But I was there in 2006, and I need to say that the sound was pretty bad in front of the stage. I remember that you couldn't really hear a thing. Still great though, because I know all the songs anyway! But still, the sound was only good on the recording, not for the audience.
Just can't believe how amazing these guys are, for any band to write a song like this and pull it off live would be a major achievement but these guys have an entire catalogue of tracks as good and better that they can pull off. I firmly believe Trym was a massive part of that, as much as i love Faust, Trym is the greatest drummer in extreme music. Never heard another drummer who can blast as loud for as long. The greatest band of all time in my opinion
Honestly, he's a great drummer, but can you really say he can blast at a consistent volume for so long when he's using triggers? Sure, the tempos are impressive, but the power, I'm just not sure.
After not touching Emperor for a few years, I started on Curse you all men! and I can't turn it off now. My room mate probabbbbbly hates me right about now.
diabolusdc don't worry, thanks anyway. Solberg has a wonderful voice, the first time I heard the live version of "Inno a satana" at WOA i had an eargasm with his high note at the end of the song (sorry for my english, i'm italian :) )
Hands down, one of the greatest bands of all time.
I love how this video starts with "Thank you so much!"
I've always said even Beethoven would have been proud of writing a song this good.
Even Chopin

Those chord progressions give me chills every time.
it's like fantasy
"Fools, I was already ancient..." That line is one if the most evil and powerful ever written. I got chills when I first hear it in 97'.
Emperor is ubelievable and amazingly and surprisingly good live. Out of all the profound people of black metal, Ihsahn is perhaps the most profound.
Trym Torson... bombastic on drums!
Best Black metal band of all time, best live performance for a Black metal band, The Emperor is eternal.
Damn the fuck! Trym is a machine gun
The melodic melody is haunting. Awesome song.
Anyone notice any difference between this video against studio version?
I don't.
I LOVE when this happens, only excelent musicians can do that.

Emperor are in a class by themselves, period.
Remember when he wrote this stuff. Way ahead of its time.
04:23 dat riff makes me wanna storm everything. Trym is a fucking machine gun

Don't forget Frost from 1349, Satyricon and Hellhammer from Mayhem
Jeremy Jansen In my opinion man he's the greatest of them all, but that's just my tastes
+David Murphy Exactly. The stamina of the above mentioned drummers is incomparable to Trym's.
Heman Roczko Long live the Emperor!
Honestly, he's a great drummer, but can you really say he can blast at a consistent volume for so long when he's using triggers? Sure, the tempos are impressive, but the power, I'm just not sure.
If I were gay I'd definitely have a serious crush on Isahn... So much talent in this guy. The others are quite great too.
This is so much better than the studio version. The vocals in the first two Emperor albums need to be way higher.
I'm not too much in black metal. But this band is holy great shit :D Excellent music.
so complex, so mystical, so evil
I think this song is best number of them and beyond even black metal
sechtdamon looks like the absolute metalhead archetype.
apocalyptic fucking black metal with almighty keys and raw sounds!!!!
Greetings to all black metal maniacs from whole planet!!!
out of all the early norwegian bm bands I have to say Emperor ( Ihsahn) has the biggest songwriting skills.
Witold Wiczsarek don’t forget Mortiis who wrote all their early lyrics.
After not touching Emperor for a few years, I started on Curse you all men! and I can't turn it off now. My room mate probabbbbbly hates me right about now.
+Goddamnit Lara XD you too cant get fucking enough of that live version...:-)? i mean the Wacken performance, 06 or 08. simply divine.
Majestic!!
i looooove the guitars and the keyboards in this song, bombness,,
Powerfull and INTENCE the guitars sounds like very subtle changes using the tremolo style riffing creating a majestic feel.
I can't wait to see them for the first time at Beyond the Gates. Seeing them in Greighallan is a huge bonus too.
They're so damn good live.
Best live performance ever

Anyone knows the name of the man on keyboards?
Yes, Einar Solberg, Ihsahn's brother in law. Though I suspect you've long since found out by now or no longer care! :)
diabolusdc don't worry, thanks anyway.
Solberg has a wonderful voice, the first time I heard the live version of "Inno a satana" at WOA i had an eargasm with his high note at the end of the song (sorry for my english, i'm italian :) )
+ManiacMonckey Einar Solberg, Ihsahn's brother-in-law and the frontman of the band Leprous.
ОХУЕННО!!!
Line up?
Part from 1:06 onwards.
*By the fallen one I shall arise.
lol well he has to play blasts in every song almost
the drummer is quite tired on this one
Trym, over 6mins keep hitting double pedal 4notes on tempo 190bpm. Hand down!
one of the best songs of this band, if not the best.
