How to Fill & Empty the Flush Tank

This is a topic raised many times on Facebook and other forums, especially by newcomers to Camping, Caravanning and Motorhomes. How do you fill the Flush Tank and how much fluid do you need to add.
Thetford website states that the Flush Tank has a capacity of 15L
Here I show you what I do on our Conway Crusader Folding Camper and I'm sure it's not much different on other units.
Over the years I've tried many of the different toilet chemicals and now only use the Proshot range from Qualkem. Both the Blue and Pink fluids have a lovely Cherry Fresh fragrance which we think smells more like Bubble Gum. Now use their ECO Green liquid which can be used in both tanks.

I have a blue and a pink bottle of fluid. Instructions for both are in German (Dethleffs!). Are they both the same thing?

@@AnyOldSite blue goes into the main cassette and the pink into the flush tank

Very good. A couple of observations on the top of toilet cassette there should be a small green funnel that fits on top of flush tank filler that makes it easier to fill also capacity us 15 litres to fill .

Hi Mike,Can you tell me the sizes of the waste pipe you have used please?When we tried to fill our tank it took hardly any water even after draining any ideas?Thanks Ross

The filler for the flush fills quickly with probably less than litre of water. You just have to keep pouring and it will keep filling. Should take over 10litres of water and using the extra funnel attachment makes it easier to fill. When making the video I had misplaced mine

Size of waste pipe will follow once I can get at it to check

Pipe is standard 28mm caravan waste pipe and I used a T connector and 2 elbows to make up the waste pipe. Pipe is normally sold by the metre so I bought 2m so have some spare. Ends just push into the outlets and is far better than the pipes that came with the camper
