Well he did get shot exploring a city because his driver didn’t know where the hell he was going and passed one of the guys that tried to kill him earlier that day
"Franz Ferdinand was an explorer right?" Well thanks to his death the French, the British and the Germans explored a lot of trenches, so yeah Ryan, he was an explorer.
Also it wasn't Sarah Palin that was the Tina Fey SNL skit that started that crap. As an Alaskan it annoys me whenever someone attributes the joke skit directly to Palin
I still don't know how they could have gotten that wrong, I live in Iowa and the farthest west I ever went was Nebraska, they have gone to L.A. on several occasions and didn't know it was Japan, I would have either said Indonesia or Japan but was more certain on Japan, I can sort of understand China, but Russia!? I expected better of you Ryan.

Much respect for you guys giving tribute to Alex Trebek, and playing this game, and holding a donation for the cancer that is effecting (or affecting?) him. Anyways I look forward to this tournament!
I get pancreatitis a lot and I grew up watching Alex Trebek with my Great Grandma and I can really feel for this. I still go visit my Great Grandma at the nursing home to watch Jeopardy with her. Also, side note, I bought my Great Grandma an Achievement Hunter blanket for Christmas when they still had them and she loves it, doesn't get it but she loves it
My Grandpa died of Pancreatic Cancer 3 years ago. I will be donating. Thanks for this friendly competition. It's awesome to see awareness for something less popular than breast cancer or other cancers. Thank you.
Thank you guys for supporting Pancreatic Cancer and the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network 💜 I lost my Grandma and my Aunt to this awful disease, and have been participating with PanCan walks since 2015 when my Aunt passed. To hear this news about Alex Trebek, it broke my heart. Here's to more research, better detection, and hope for the future! Thanks for the laughs through the years, keep it up!
I know you have good intentions with the comment but the reason we’re getting Jeopardy week rn is that Trebek just announced that he is battling pancreatic cancer, and AH is trying to promote the study for it. I hope it goes well for him, I love seeing him on the show and it’s a tough thing to go through.
To be fair, he was thinking of Ferdinand Magellan, which isn't a crazy mistake to make offhand playing a quiz game. I imagine if he had more than a few seconds to think about it he would have realized he was wrong.
Thank you for showing respect for Alex trebek. It sucks he got cancer but what better way to help spread awareness and to help him by playing jeopardy.
Fun fact: The USS Maine is considered by the US Navy to be the longest ship in the world. Her foremast is at Arlington National Cemetery, and her mainmast is at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. Since she was never decommissioned, that would make her over 60 miles long.
A year on Pluto is about 248 Earth years. Pluto was discovered in 1930, so it's only been known about for 89 years. That means there is still 159 Earth years til ONE Pluto year will have passed since it's discovery!!

I finally have some down time today after my Fiancee's father passed very early this morning from cancer. First time these guys had me shed a few tears that weren't from laughter. Much love to Trebek, and anyone else suffering from cancer. Fuckin classic AH timing.
Why were they laughing about the enterprise? It's a very common name for ships, the British had a enterprise frigate back in the 1700s, and the US had multiple ships named the enterprise (including the first nuclear powered aircraft carrier).
19:27 Was Matt really about to say that John Wilkes Booth assassinated Martin Luther King Jr cause that's what it sounded like. 20:18 That would be Ferdinand Magellan, Ryan.
Interesting that Ryan would blame Palin for it, because depending on where she lives in Alaska, she certainly could see Russia. The Bering Strait is only 55 miles long, if she lived in LA I would understand the confusion, but, she doesn't
@@brendantroitsky4041 Fair enough, but as another comment said, and I also looked for other confirmation, and found it. Is that she didn't actually say it, so the point is moot anyway
