So we didn’t find out about “walk assist mode” until afterwards. To hike that thing up a hill you just hold the button on the left side of the controller!
Hi, my parents own two haibikes. And on those there are a button with a man walking with a bike. The button is next to the eco, medium and high buttons. I help you when you walk with the bike insted of pushing your pedel with your hand. You need to hold the button in, when you push the bike and then the motor shoud help you a bit.
I’ve towed my friend up two fire roads.. he’s about 220 lbs with his bike.. I’m about 170 with my e bike.. 1st: 13.1 miles and 3600 ft elevation. I ended the day with 1/5 bars of battery.. I think I’d have more battery life if I didn’t tow him up in boost mode climbing up at 13 mph for the last 1.5 miles.. 2nd: 7 miles and 2000ft elevation and ended the day with 3/5 bars of battery.. Alone I can get about 70 miles in eco mode.. both days were about 80-85f and had no issues with overheated.. we did use the rope and inter tube method to prevent tugging..
For real it feels like cheating😂 my friend had never gotten any real time on a full squish until i had one and hes like WOAH THIS IS CHEATING I NEED ONE
I have been mountain biking for 25+ years. I bought an ebike this spring and have around 700 miles of dirt under it already. It’s the best recreational item I ever bought. The best $6,000’s I ever put a beat down on. I can ride 30 miles of trail today and go right back out tomorrow. It got me back in excellent shape at almost 50. Once again I’m traveling every weekend to the best trail systems I can find and loving it. I haven’t ran into anyone who hasn’t wanted to try out my bike. They’re simply brilliant to ride.
NOT only with the rain me thinking of the battery on the e-bike, I really appreciated finding your uTube presentations. Im a senior citizen now and I have confidence that an e-bike will help me enjoy biking again. I had come to a conclusion I would be riding around on the adult trike bike, which looked on line as being a very safe bike. Thank you for your information.

where those delivery bikes win is endurance on the flat, they often have huge batteries and small 200w ish hub motors. usually 36v at 15Ah, most around my area have 48v at 20Ah or so. those haibikes are 36v 13.6Ah. one delivery guy near me has a totally nuts custom build using battery cell modules from his nissan leaf that got written off. 48v at 100 Ah.. custom wound motors for ~12kw with sadvoton controllers and eBMS..

Awesome sauce and super congratulations into E-BIKE LIFE. I’m the proud owner from 2020 of a New EVELO DELTA X E-Bike. I love that my DELTA X has NO rear derailleur. I love the CVT, Continuous Variable Transmission. The 750 Watt mid-drive motor. It’s a Class 2.
One of biggest advantages is that the e-bike can now replace the truck shuttle and you can have more fun doing the ride up and still have a great time on the way down. I also feel that with the weight of the motor and engine down low they are incredably stable and with the power you end up cleaning stuff you would normally stall out on- so.... ride long, further, safer and more often and that can't be bad.
Those Haibikes are pretty nice!! Funny after watching this video I was Sam Pilgrim sending the same bike and backflipping down a nice jump trail!! He really thrashes his Haibike!!
Seth, Great video… like always. I used to be an avid mountain bike rider. I rented an e-bike for my 70-year-old father. This way he could ride a harder trail system with me and not die on the trail. He was totally against riding the e-bike at first, but about a few miles down the trail, he wanted one. Both my parents have them now and ride more than ever. E-bikes are a great equalizer for all levels. The fact that e-bikes are getting people outside and riding, is only helping the sport. I ended up renting an e-bike for myself and haven’t been able to get back on a regular mountain bike since (unless I’m at a ski area that won’t allow them just People say e-bikes are cheating, I tell them to rent one, ride it without the power on, and tell me you aren’t getting a better workout than any regular mountain bike. You have so many options with e-bikes. You can use them to get in better sharp (without power on), just enjoy riding more (with power on), or maybe you want to cover more terrain is a shorter time (power it up). Either way, you are outside riding. For those of us that used to ride dirt bike (Motorcycles), these e-bike are the answer. The extra weight helps dirt bikers transition quickly into mountain biking. If you take a bad crash, what would you rather have (e-bike or non e-bike) to get you back to your car? These types of bikes are going to be the future. The ebikes they are riding are old and heavy, latest models have integrated batteries and carbon frames / up to date geo, which make them lighter and much more agile.
One of the guys I ride with that I most admire is older than me quite a bit (I'm over 50), and I'm not sure I've ever seen him on a geared bike. Finished the DirtyKanza on a SS at least once. I have one, but it's just for "townie" riding, even if I've taken it on the trails a time or 2.

I'm a mechanic at an ebike specific bike shop in the UK. Your bikes have a 'walk assist' function to power the bike without pedalling. Also, we've just taken delivery a Park Tool electric lift, can't wait to start using it! (Coincidentally we also sell Haibike)

"I'm going to hang on to my mountain bike a while longer" gives the wrong message. Many celebrated mountain biking athletes have either switched or are using both e-mtb and acoustic!. Keep up the otherwise great content!
I think that the perception of ebikes is changing as well which is probably a good thing - the change from hub motors that can be turned on and off to mid drive providing boost probably helps with that. I am unfit, and purchased an ebike to commute to work (~15km odd), and because I'm now remembering why I loved riding as a kid, I've purchased a non electric gravel bike to start doing a bit of road cycling / easy gravel stuff on

I wish, I just get junk ads that don't apply to me like that soap jerk.
Same!
I‘m just waiting until Seth builds a lift into his backyard 😂😂
big props to johnny for being honest how much it stinks to chase Seth up hills. You and me both pal! Shuttle your buddy up the hills will definitely make friends
I'm just loving Seth's reactions to the e-bike. Pretty much explains why people get hooked on them
5:10 satisfaction! LOL 😂
My dads Santa Cruz e-bike has a setting that adds assist at the same speed as you walk
Ebikers can't even walk their bikes without help? Kinda sad, eh?
Kinda, it's a bit crap on the Shimano as you've got to be in a mid range gear, exactly where you aren't usually at that point 😂
@@StaggerLee68 yeah e bikes are frikkin heavy so of course there is walk assist.
Brian warshow
Well if older people want to get into a hobby they like , how can you hate on that
@@StaggerLee68 well not really but its their for walking up steep stairs that's the only time my dads has used it
Was wondering why seth was explaining what an e-bike is like it was Alien, then I remebered that e- bikes dont exist in the US
I rode a demo electric mountain bike at a festival and it truly feels amazing. You feel like a superhero. One pedal on the highest setting and your'e gone.
