Thanks. This is exactly what I was looking for. I was connecting it to a 3 way switch and couldn’t get it to work. It was because of the red wire which I removed and now everything is working.
Great video, but one question. When you attached the face plate, did you remove the smaller metal screws already screwed into the tp-link switch, or did you just not screw any face plate screws to the top and bottom of the tp-link side?
It would be helpful if you showed the left-hand side of the HS220 how you wired the wires into the RED and BLACK terminals or did not. Now I am assuming you simply only used the black wire aka hot and never connected the red one. I would say the video is partially successful so no wonder you are getting 60/40 approval on this video.
Your wiring was set up as a 3 way. So you don't have to buy the second light switch to make it work? My living room is a 3 way switch and I want to buy this but if I only need one smart switch I'll only set up one since I can control it from the app or with my Google Home
Yes. It was previously a 3 way switch. I decided to put a cover over my other switch and leave it in the on position. I read numerous posts about it before I bought it to go in place of a 3 way switch. So just decide if you don’t really need to use the other switch, if you don’t you’ll be fine with this. The HS200 works the same way. I used it as a 2 way switch just removing the red wire and taping it off. Works great for me.
Alternatively, the HS210 works with a 3-way setup. It's pricey but comes as a pair. You only need to use one per light. Downside is it doesn't allow dimming (like the HS200).
Does a regular faceplate fit over the switch? Or do you have to use the one supplied? Trying to see if I can have 2 of those switching together with a 2 gang plate
This was the only vid I found to show me how to “disable” the 3way pole in my setup! Worked perfectly . Thank you.

Thanks for your feedback! I might look into doing a remaster of this video 👍
Great video

Perfect. Yea there's definitely no need for the other switch anymore since I can control with my voice or the app. Thanks a lot

Zia Malik you can use existing face plate, it comes with a snap-on plate but you can just pop it off
did it fit in the standard plate that your originally had? or did you have to get a new one?
I am in the UK and I have just got one will it work???
Great video, I found some of my light switches only have 2 wires, how can I make this work without a neutral?
Amazon description says "Requires a neutral wire"
Thanks, had to go with a Lutron on the rooms without a neutral @@fleckx
Not very descriptive at all. Don't show everything. I still don't know how to wire this.
Oof tough sorrow for you. A lot of others found it worked for them so maybe your not watching the whole way through?
