@@silviaj4965 basically kpop companies (SM and YG mostly) looked down on them for being successful even though they were from a poor and unknown company when they were rookies. these companies would pay the media to ignore them and hide good articles about them, would make sure they weren’t invited to award shows, had them shut out of broadcasting, and they just treated bts horribly in general. and it still happens today. for example, bts got nominated for a grammy, but the naver articles about them got hidden (yg and naver have a contract). SM paid someone to try and get BTS in controversy recently, there was something involving China and BTS but it got resolved.

And Gfriend. All 3 groups started at almost nothing. Have maybe 200 fans to 1 thousand to 10 thousand to 100 thousand and to have over 1 million fans. (I’m not sure how many fans seventeen and Gfriend have, but still).
And now their hard work is paying off. I’m a really really proud buddy/army/carat(carrot, not sure how you write it).

@@charleorio142 SM lost for its strategy, it was fixed in remaining in the first place that did not know how to play its cards well. All the SM artists had a prominent period and then as soon as he made another group debut he forgot about the previous ones. in addition to Girls generetion, female groups do not have the desired success (leaving the various scandals alone). for the male groups instead they have been successful up to the suju, the SHINee have had a hit after just debuting, however in the long run SM has engaged in something else. as far as exos are concerned, they have had a clear path because let's face it, SM knows how to advertise itself, but they have been seen as a bad copy of the super juniors. after the 3 Chinese members left, it was a misstep for their career. as for the NCTs, the initial idea was not bad but then they started to dilute it too much by talking only about them. there was a comeback of the super juniors and not all the fans knew it therefore more than the NCTs who flopped I say that the SM strategy
@@charleorio142 I didn't want to talk about the last group because I didn't want to end up in fanwars, SM like the others of big3 are losing power, also thanks to the success that Bts have, making fans realize that no matter the companies are not known or they suck , the important thing is how fans can keep them going. just think of seventeen with a company like pledis that really sucks not only has it managed to continue despite the imminent bankruptcy but they have also managed to be attractive to the market. same thing for mamamoo, or monstax. now the Kpop system has changed and will change even more in the future and companies must either simply accept it and get smart

They are solid group. I mean I already see that their talent and especially bond are solid but the thing is they are not from Big3, so back in the day I was kinda sad and anxious because I saw a lot of very talented and potential groups disband, not to mention they were kinda mis treated too in the industry, but now, oh how the table turned. Whenever I come back to their old videos and live stages, and read old comments, I feel very bitter sweet nostalgic. They really paved the way.

This is my opinion honestly so don't hate. Yea their fame did explode really quickly but they weren't even idols for a long time. They didn't know what it's like to not be famous or not be recognized because they've always been under the spotlight. Some of the groupsile twice and got7 handled the fame very well and I appreciate that. But bts was there since earlier and I agree it was only a year before got7 but they didn't get famous instantly. They stated getting fame in the second half of 2016 before which they even could have disbanded. They had been to the very depression of idol life and through many hardships most of these new idols cannot even imagine. That's why it's a given why bts is so popular right now and not just for some short instance but they have maintained and steadily increased their popularity. And this has come from experience and also many lessons they learnt throughout their life as a human and also as an below average earning idol group and a group coming from a small company.
