This is actually in Japanese and they also sing this song in Korean. With of course some Spanish, they also have a song with French lyrics as well. They are amazing and yes, you’re right there is nothing they can’t sing.

I am Mexican, so I can verify that this is NOT a Mariachi song hahahaha is not because is not by Mexicans, not at all; that would be dumb, but simply the music is not Mariachi music, they say “el Mariachi” in the lyrics but that’s it. The rhythm and general vibe of the song is very much Latin tho, for sure. So yes, Airplane pt. 2 is a Latin music influenced BTS track, yet another lane they had not been shy about exploring, so it counts.
Btw, to tell the rappers apart it sometimes helps, if you see one of the rappers absolutely murdering the dance moves, then more than likely it is J-Hope. Of course all of the members are amazing dancers, but from the three rappers J-Hope is the one more prone to dancing and having solo dance parts, since he is the group’s Dance Leader.
I was searching the comment section for this. lol. I'm Dominican so I don't know if there are specific requirements to classify mariachi. But it for sure is not like any mariachi I have heard in my life. lol. Mariachi songs are very distinctive sound for sure.
Since they already mention the diff countries, I feel like adding the mariachi line is adding another global element to the song.

“El Mariachi” translates to the word “musician.” It originally came from the movie “El Mariachi” which was about a guy who sang romance but nobody liked that about him-but he never cared and continued to sing romance wherever he went and whenever he sang. In Airplane Pt. 2 I think it compares that to the old days of BTS and how they continued to sing their songs wherever they went and didn’t care that people didn’t like them or their songs. In the lyrics it says “Wherever in the world, I will sing” which connects that they won’t care and don’t care about who dislikes their music. That they will continue to share their music and passion with the world.

It's both Korean and African. There are afro beats and the suits are African.. They even do african dances such as the gwara gwara which originated in south africa. The whole idol choreo can go with any afro beat song

I love this song so much! It was one of the first BTS songs that really made me fall for them! I love your reaction & break down too! A++! ... Fun fact this version of the song is actually being sung in Japanese not Korean (there is a Korean version but that doesn’t have a MV) ... And the whole song is based of J Hope’s solo track Airplane. His boss heard it and was like “this is so good it should be a BTS song!” So they made Airplane pt 2 & J Hope’s rap verse in the song is taken from his original solo song

This is part 2 as the first Airplane is a solo song from Jhope (the one dancing on the bar) off his mixtape Hope World. Fun fact: jhope’s verse in this song is the exact same lyrics from one of his verses from Airplane but completely rearranged composition wise. Airplane is a lot slower and totally different feel so the skill to rearrange how he sings the lyrics to fit this song’s style is SO cool to me.
Also, two BTS videos back to back a day apart!? You spoil us!
Airplane part 1 is like the feeling of flying. Part 2 is like landing in many places :D
P.S. Someone mentioned that the first part feels like France, the second like Spain sonically. I don't hear or know it though, can't confirm
I love that you notice the colors, because as you noted, they use color very purposefully. BTS does nothing by accident, at least, that's how it seems, so you always find such awesome details in all the videos. The level of detail and attention to detail is astounding, and adds so much to the experience. love your reactions, you're always wonderful to see.
Pick a genre and they have a song. Even country music if you count RM’s collab with Lil Nas X on “Seoul Town Road”.
Their song “Am I wrong” includes sampling from an American blues song (with credit given) - that’s the closest I think I’ve heard them get to country.
I've never questioned the purpose of the rain, but I think it does have meaning. If you see Jin's face when it starts raining and then see them continue to sing and dance to, I think it's a very subtle way of saying that it doesn't matter what the world throws at them, they will just keep on doing their thing.

Something I love about BTS is that they show respect to other cultures in their videos and songs without trying to appropriate it. They're giving a shout out to every corner of the world and at the same time, letting us into theirs.

You will get who’s who. It took me a bit in the beginning. I’m a 62 yr old new Army from the beginning of COVID and I’m discovering new/old shit all the time. Thanks for posting this I hadn’t heard/seen this. My mom sang opera , had perfect pitch and loved David Bowie so I get eclectic taste.
I'm a huge fan of artists bringing fusion to their fans. There's something special about bringing so many elements together (plus, they, and Big Hit, are beyond smart -- they know their fans are all over the world).😊
No Russian, but RM and Jimin rapped in Spanish at their concert. Chicken Noodle soup the J Hope and Becky G version. Also, I believe this version of Airplane is in Japanese. They can sing and rap in Korean, English, Japanese, and Spanish. This is definitely one of my favorites of theirs.

He's a baritone and has the deepest voice of all the members. He can ALSO sing in 3 octaves and it's mind blowing 🤯(PLEASE watch Stigma live. It's so bluesy and deep, and Taehyung's voice is absolutely inhuman.)If like R&B this is for you sir.
Jungkook is the one who V walks up to, who is already sitting at the bar. He is the most stable vocalist and is frequently in the center of the choreography.(ALSO, have you not watched Euphoria live yet!?! Omg.) He's ALSO the one drinking milk at the beginning of Dynamite, has the AMAZING solo with the killer high note in ON Kinetic Manifesto, and the member with long purple hair in Butter.

J-Hope is the one with the sing songy rap who dances on top of the bar. He's also the king of chereography. Many people also don't realize he sings many backing vocals for the group. He's so flexible with his body AND skillset. He's also always upbeat and quick to laugh. One of his nicknames is Sunshine.
Jin is the vocalist (with the light blonde hair) who was lighting the match and singing the high pitched "and STIIILLLL" part you enjoyed with RM. (WATCH EPIPHANY LIVE!! That song made me think twice and take the gun out of my mouth. It's literally saved my life. I'm so grateful for the hope they've given me for the future. Or at least shining their light on my path so I could find my own way.)

I'm so sorry that life is so hard for you right now. I was suicidal too. BTS saved me. They are the best decision I ever made. Their focus on positivity and mental health saved me. I have so much to live for now. 5 beautiful grandchildren to watch grow up and have beautiful lives of their own. I love myself and finally see that light at the end of the tunnel.

My position is being eliminated at work ( many people are losing their jobs) I just relocated so I have used all my savings. I'm now saddled with a mortgage I cannot pay and no safety net. I can only hope there is some light for me soon. I'm looking. 💜

In Mexico we have a song by the singer Juan Gabriel who is famous for saying that "Mariachi" means "party day" in Otomí, a language in Mexico. I want to think that they took that reference to say that wherever they go it will be a party, but speaking of mariachi this is not mariachi music but it does have a Latin vibe ^^

I think part of is how well you describe the breadth of their talents. For baby armys i could tell more who they were by the colour of their microphones, jk purple , jimin gold, v green, jin pink, Rm light blue ,hobi red, suga black. They have changed slightly over the years, but thats how i recognised them before i started to know them by voice 💜

I love your channel - SUGA is a rapper (D and D-2 and Daewichta. SUGA is a composer and he had been recognized by the Korea Government for his compositions. RM is the rapper but he has become a singer and a dancer as well. JIN (in my opinion) is the most amazing! He is the oldest member. When he joined BTS as a trainee he had never danced or sung - look at him now. Jimin had professional dancing experience but hadn't sung before. J-Hope was a well known underground dancer (he had never sung or rapped before). Pretty amazing! V did not have dancing and singing experience when he became a trainee. Jungkook was only 13 when he became a trainee. I think each and every member of BTS is fanastic!

That's the thing about BTS and what differentiates them from what we think of as a boy band in western culture (beyond the fact that they write and produce their own music)...there is no "star"..there are 7 stars and they are equally talented. Trust me, ARMY can tell the members apart by the smallest feature, like a pinky finger or shape of their lips. I was like you at first...I thought I would figure out who was who by the colour of their hair...which is the funniest line in K-Pop because it changes almost with each song and for each member. You will get there..thanks for reacting.

One thing you need to know about Airplane Pt2, is that it takes up a verse from JHope’s song (Airplane) from his solo mixtape because the boys liked it so much. JHope is the 3rd rapper, the one who dances on the bar top. He’s a great street dancer (his background). You’re right, they can do anything they set their mind to, beyond your wildest imagination!
