Yr a great Teacher ! Any chance you could explain Flakes & Home Manager - what is the difference ? Like I’m a 5 yr old ( simple). I’m trying to get a lamp stack for Wordpress / Drupal. Confused! Tks Carlo
I may do a video on flakes but i suggest checking out the flakes video by @librephoenix its by far the best i've seen. I'd also suggest against self hosting wordpress unless you are VERY comfortable with linux and LAMP setups, its is notoriously hard to secure and due to its popularity one of the most exploited web apps around, its worth paying the small fee to get a managed instance hosted somewhere
…I…wha…setting-up certificates and nginx can be THIS easy? Are you KIDDING me? Hells. I’m sold. Next server is NixOS. Hell, I may migrate everything. (Probably use Caddy because I don’t hate myself and like things as simple as possible but still.)
This is one of my favorite things about nixos as well since most of my nixos instances are servers, serving web stuff its saved me so much time over the years
how come your proxmox vm is not lagging? mine is crazy lag, dont ever think about using any linux vm ui, impossible, even only tty has serious input lags, how you set up proxmox? can you make a video about it?
Using SPICE instead of VNC really improves the performance of graphical desktops on proxmox, but mostly i think its just a hardware thing, im not sure what you're running but my proxmox setup is an 8 node cluster with all NVMe ceph storage and 4x 10gb links 2 for ceph, 1 for proxmox traffic, and 1 for VM hosts to bridge to, I may do some proxmox related content in the future but jay over at learn linux tv has a really good proxmox series available right now
I use unraid in my homelab at the moment. I don't have issues with bad lag. I have a spare hp z820 and will probably set up proxmox on it in the future. Last time I used it, years ago, it's pcie pass through wasn't as easy to deal with as unraids.
@@escapement i found workaround once for all, using proxmox lxc container. why do you tolerate lagging? its not worth it, just install linux on bare metal, i have 3 of them installed respectively for home/work, arch, debian and nix os
OMG No way you got my vscode ssh to nixos working. Saved me 4 hours after already spending 2
lol I had that same battle too
is that your dog snoring in the background ? :)
Lol it is but I didn't notice until I posted it I'm so used to that I dont even hear it anymore

@@WhyDoesNothingWork nah man, lxc container came to rescue, no need to tinker around
