Thanks a lot man for this video I had this brake calipers for over a year now and I couldn't know how to install them❤❤❤❤❤❤ you've served me big time man
No worries!
I just happened to find this video because I need to work on my Avid Shorty brakes again. I've been confused about these brakes for well over a year now. When I searched youtube after I bought them, there were no good videos on installing them or adjusting them. This is a great video which answered many of my installation questions. I think I figured out a good way to adjust them, but I'm not 100% sure I'm adjusting them the best way. It would be great if you could also make an adjustment video. The owner's manual is lacking a lot of information. These are great brakes once you figure them out! Thanks!
Hey thank you so much I really appreciate this comment! Will try to make an adjustment video, that's a great topic idea. Sorry I'm a bit disorganized at the whole TH-cam thing sometimes!
This thing is super complicated but when it works it works. Thanks for the video
Yeah it is, half of making these videos is for myself to understand it :).
@@spinningtrue haha. I have 22mm and used also the metal ring instead of the black one. Thanks to you. But the real deal is to turn that spring to 9oclock and tightening the bolt simultaneously. Great job!
Hi, you can replace the bosses too... keep the good work, your channel will grow!!!
Doh! Totally didn't even think to see if they're removable but are the holes in the frame or in the boss part? Thinking on it off the top of my head they're in the frame but still a really good point I didn't think about
Some very neat work. Those brakes are way more complicated than I thought.
Thanks!
I'm planning on installing them too! But can't find anywhere the maximum vertical distance between the bosses and the pads, does anyone have that written down?
Man I did not see this comment until now, if you still need it I'll try to measure it for you in the next few days!
