its a good show and probably the best portray of the Vikings but it is no where near accurate.. ragnar was not the 1st to sail west, floki discovered Iceland which was atleast 100years after the 1st English raid.. ivar becomes a Viking king but hows he gonna do that with so many older brothers in the show? theres a lot of Viking storys that span over 500 years they are cramming in like a 30 year period..

So the show is condensing things over 80 years into like 8 years (estimating the age of Ragnar's son in show). For dramatic effect. Ivar is the crippled baby boy who can't walk? I seem to recall that maybe he did in fact become King, not sure. It's difficult to remember every little fact.

I am a viking and archeologist from Norway, I like Vikings! We don`t have much materials from this time, but you must remember the vikings where traders and farmers. ANd only about 1% where warriors. And the best warriors came from Rogaland in Norway where we have the three swors (Stavanger). The real vikings came from; Bergen, Jæren, Oslo, Stockholm, Kattegat, midt-Jylland (Danmark)
