I would rather learn paper by hard(i.e understanding the math behind till the point you can prove it yourself) and then go for practical application

That way is far, far more boring and no where near rewarding enough to be sustainable imo

@@kabirkumar5815 He says he wants to be a researcher in the field of AI. You can't become a researcher and publish papers on journals with high IF when you don't understand the backbone of what you are learning and learn only frameworks and codes
Some people might argue that just some topics from statistics is enough but AI is not purely based on inferential statistics but rather pure math also plays an important role like combinatorics or analysis.
But obviously all the self-claimed data scientists/AI researcher wannabes would not want to learn the fundamentals and just deep dive into coding
