I first visited Resaca in 1964. It is amazing to me that with several exits off of I75, the area was never overdeveloped and the battlefield in such good shape.
I cannot wait to get back to Resaca...it's amazing that what I once thought was small and insignificant to the war based on it's appearance in 2005 is actually a large and very significant battle In the Atlanta Campaign. My little kid self is so amazed and my adult self appreciates everything the Battlefield Trust has done there.
Born in Chattanooga, I have overlooked, grown accustom to or otherwise ignored the vast amount of Civil War history in my area. Thanks you for re-awakening an interest in the Southern Campaigns and providing info about the newly opened sites at Rocky Face and Resaca. Going to Rocky Face very soon.
This was an excellent video though giving short shrift to how Hood’s attack was repulsed by some unnamed “reinforcements” continues the historical dissing of Alpheus Williams. That portion of Resaca Battlefield is equally cool.
Dedicated the gun emplacement several years ago with the 125th OVI. Also did the reenactment there for several years, awesome place!
my ggg grandfather was there. 55th alabama, scotts brigade, lorings division.
7th Ill. Regiment here. He survived the war without being wounded as far as I know.

The State of Georgia has done a lot too!

Educational thank you
Thanks, best time of year for these videos. By May we'd only about 25yards.
That fish hook pattern of the battle lines at the beginning look like Gettysburg in reverse.
It's always nice to see Wil's Bears hat! Then again, maybe get him a A.B.T. hat one of these days!
Looking forward to a future visit, thanks for the informative video

Nice eyewear Gary. Stylish accouterments are essential to confident touring.
Great content guys. It's actually pronounced Re-sack-a.
I literally live not far from the ressaca battlefield
