@@jordanlee5594 maybe you misunderstood me. Dresden isn't shutting down, that's not what I said. But unit 1, which is not operative, I was told by many people working on it with me who were house, that it was being decommissioned and eventually torn down in the near future. For all I know that's changed by now lol
@@Jabberwoot Sorry I wasn't trying to be rude. As of right now it's still there, not sure if they are planning to tear it down but it's totally intact currently
The entire concept of "privately owned" nuclear *_anything_* is asking for trouble! Only those entities directly accountable to the population should be building, maintaining, and overseeing, nuclear power plants. To do otherwise is just asking for 'cut corners' and a cover-up of accidents etc. etc... _(a long list of negatives)._ Oh, if that wasn't clear, I meant _government_ owned and controlled plants. It's no guarantee of problem-free nuclear, but it's _far_ more desirable, for many reasons.

Worked at this place for many years. Unit 1 was shut down, but 2 and 3 were complete and operating at full power.
Just got back from working there. They're gonna tear it down soon. Was an awesome experience to work in a museum just before it's taken down.
@@Jabberwoot Completely false, they have no plans to shut down.
@@jordanlee5594 that's what I was told by my boss when I worked there, don't know what to tell you lol

Do some research on ANY government nuclear research or or plant operations! You just might change your mind😱
