Home health OT is the only way to make more money. I’m a full time home health OT but just now the visits per week is being reduced. Instead of 2x/week now 1x/week , or 30 days vs.60. Due to decreased reimbursement. Where in the world will you get $100/hr? Maybe $55-$60. Med B is what you’re referring to? For outpatient. You need your NPI too. Do you get an LLC? I’m not sure you can do this in NJ, PA, DE area. Time to reinvent yourself. I might branch out and do CNA type work as the OT work has decreased suddenly due to reimbursement. No one can find CNAs because they don’t want to work is what I’ve been told. Government assistance has run out and no longer and extra $600 , so what gives? Are they just living on unemployment and I’m paying for them ?
In Las Vegas it was pretty easy to get $85 or $90 per visit. There was one hospital that was paying $120 per visit but they had to close their home health program. I’m thinking they weren’t making any money. As far as I know home health visits a still allow 2x per week in my area.
is the Part B outpatient rate the same rate as if your were contracted by a home health agency? How much is the average in home health if the OT does the F/U? Whats the average for the OT Eval?
Part B would pay more than working for a home health agency but it would work best as a side income. Top paying jobs in home health are about $90 per eval and $80 per f/u but it depends where you live. Some places only offer $75 fir each session.
@@otfocus Im a PTA and im so burnt its not even funny, we're so used and abused. Is it even worth it to upgrade? I wish more people in the field would speak out and tell the truth. Great videos though. Thanks for the feedback.
@@majesticw7668 I higher degree$$$ $30,000, and when you’re done maybe make an extra 1-$2000 per year. I have my BS, graduated 30 years ago, experience is what has provided me with great jobs. Unless administrative or management, but I’m not interested. If a company offers to pay for that extra learning that’s the only way I’d consider.
Why? You make considerably less and you cannot stand on your own. No one can walk for you, but someone can wash you, dress you, feed you …that’s why I think OT isn’t looked at as being as important. I love my job as an OT but find it a constant struggle to prove myself daily.

@@otfocus Higher degree may be worth for more options.
@@otfocus do you just get the patients on your own and then see if they qualify for Part B under medicare?

PT and OT salaries are about the same in almost every setting.
Hi! I I am leaning towards pursuing occupational therapy instead of physical therapy, may I ask which OT school you attended?
Sure. I attended Touro University Nevada. I attended when it was a Masters program but now it's a doctorate.
@@otfocus thank you! Do you think getting a doctorates will soon be required?
@@Doingmybest700 It's looking that way, but hopefully not for a few more years.
