    They're great for intros or establishing shots or showing the movement of time, especially if you don't have a drone and don't want to fool around with having to think of which establishing shots you want to get and then chopping them up and sequencing in post. For example, when I did a review showing daytime and low light performance, I put a timelapse while I was waiting for it to get dark and it was perfect to show the movement of time.

    I think Hyperlapses can be used.. Primarily as a transitional elements in the Story.. They can be used as a bridge from one location or chapter of your story to another ... To me they are very relevant if used correctly..

      That’s a fair point however most people don’t really know when to use them. To be honest, how many of the biggest and greatest movies or tv shows will use Timelapses on a regular basis if at all.

    Your entire video was a good catch, it happened to me many times, I took hyper-lapse in Go Pro and on my phone, and ended up not using it anywhere in the video, recently I made the same mistake using DJI Pocket 3 .

      Cheers. Yeah. But the main thing here is you knew not to use it and not just have it in there for the sake of it.

    Vic I just received my Kondor blue recording device after waiting for two months only to discover that the cable is too short to fit my iPhone 15 pro max. I contacted Kondor blue in Canada and was surprised by the comment, oh! We are so sorry!!!!!! I had to buy another cable to make it work. It is awesome. What’s your comment?

    Great video and great point about the "why" of a hyperlapse video. I feel the same way about slow motion. People want to have great slow motion tools for their cameras. But, how often do you really use slow motion? I think slow motion is highly overrated. It has its place. But, it comes up so often, yet, I hardly see that many slow motion videos show up on TH-cam or other social media outlets.
    Anyway. Great content as usual, Vic. Thank you, sir.

    Really? that's the catch? I'm going to shoot some video at an upcoming comic convention using my Pocket 3 for the first time. I am certainly gonna shoot some hyperlapse footage to throw into an edited video.... and there's not story intention behind it at all. Sometimes things are shot purely to preserve the event and to look back at later. I'm letting all the people dressed up and all the memorabilia sold be the eye candy and spectacle... there will be no story other than a chronological glimpse of things i saw. Having some hyperlapse footage will give some added adventure to the collage of footage. It doesn't always have to be vlog or cinematic storytelling.... sometimes using a camera's unique function can be simply serve the purpose of "scrapbooking" for an audience of one that wants to go back and relive the atmosphere. If it doesn't look cool or doesn't add flavor i won't use it but it isn't going to narrate or convey any story.

    • @VicBarry
      @VicBarry  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey. Yeah. I take the point. Audience of one. Absolutely. But a decent hyper lapse to even preserve an event needs some kind of thought. To be honest, the memorabilia and cos players would be better served without a hyper lapse.
      But whatever works for you. Have fun

      @@VicBarry gotcha... maybe i was reading the title as a bit clickbait-y because i was thinking, "Dang, i just got this camera and there's a catch....?!" and i was thinking it was going to be something technical about the camera settings or something with the user features. To find out the essence of the video was a tip to use Hyperlapse sparely was a relief and let-down at the same time as that doesn't apply to everyone. I agree, to each their own. :)
