Played this for the first time yesterday at a friend's house. First encounters was absolutely incredible. Had never used vr before but definitely getting this now.
I just got a quest 3 and I thought why the heck did I buy this, and then I tried this mini game and it blew me away. I thought this is most like a altered experience without drugs, that took me into that space away from reality that was so complete.
First Person Tennis VR may also be worth mentioning. It has a mixed reality mode and also options to increase the resolution almost to the limit of what the Quest 3 can handle and that looks extremely sharp. It also supports 120Hz.
I loved my Q2 and absolutely love my Q3. I dont know why people complain about battery life when you can get a cheap head strap from Ali Express with a battery built in or strap your own to it. This also makes it super comfortable to wear as it distributes and balances the weight.
I got the Bobo from Amazon and a Amazon prime membership, which includes free delivery and a movie channel, and amazon music and if you're not happy Amazon handles the refund.
Are there other options for 3D movies other than the limited big screen titles that seem to be just from Paramount and figuring out how to rip 3D Blu-rays? Thanks.
gotta say the displays are unreal more so if you use qgo and crank it up a bit. it makes it looks so amaazing! never seen a headset so clear and you cant see the screen door effect really at all!
Dungeons of Eternity doesn't seem to have that good graphics based on the videos... But I just tried Red Matter 2 on the Quest 3, and it's true that it's PCVR-like. Hard to believe that a tiny SOC is rendering it.
@@UrGamingTechie Still pretty blurry. I used sidequest to raise the resolution but it does lower the framerate. Crazy how good Red Matter 2 looks and performs! Thanks for the video!
Those developers for Red Matter 2 have a real knack for getting the best possible graphics out of whatever hardware they're working with. They've been doing it since the early days of VR. There's a game by them on App Lab that was initially developed for the mobile consumer VR headset Oculus partnered with Samsung to put out; the Gear VR. The game is a platform puzzler called Daedalus, and it still looks gorgeous years later, though the textures look a little rough in places.
I got star wars squadrons on steam (they have it on sale right now at 2$), but damn its amazing in VR, you must know your keyboard layout though, as you cant see it or the mouse but you need it to play, but its great.
I’m real interested in the hand tracking feature. I searched every menu I could see for over an hour, but could not find “First Hand” anywhere! Can someone please clue me in on where it’s hidden?
I am 70 years old and never gamed, Just got home from visiting my grandson for 3 days and he had a Quest 2 that he talked me into trying, holly smokes I played a round of golf, and went fishing, I was even amazed at the First Steps intro to the Googles. Told my wife I am getting the Quest 3 can you tell me what the difference is in 120hz and 512hz and is it worth the $ difference?
The number you’re speaking on is the storage available on the system…. 512gb is going to allow you to add a lot more games to the headset….. but if you got the lower storage you can also delete and reinstall any games that you don’t play frequently
Played Red Matter 2 with updated graphics on Quest 3 and it was impressive everything was crisp and clear. My only concern is that it might be pushing the Quest 3 to its limits so I don’t think it will get better than that. But we are getting there boys the graphics are improving and offering better experiences in return.
Yes they are, I put off buying a VR forever but finally got one, the Quest 3 512gb. My 3 main caveats are addressed (form factor, cable(s), low-res displays)
@@y_zassNow they need to put in a good camera for passthrough and it will be a perfect low cost standalone headset. I absolutely would have paid $100 extra for a high MP passthrough camera. They wanted to reduce costs to hit that $499 price point, but skimped on one of the most important new features. Smh. How can you advertise it as a VR/AR headset and throw in a camera that looks like it's from a Nokia cell phone from 2003
Are these differences for playing standalone of with pc.. might be nice to know.. since everyone seems to only review the quest 3 attached to an expensive gaming pc.. while a lot of folk will buy it to play wireless
Is it possible to do virtual desktop stuff without wifi if I only have hotspot internet, is there a way to plug in directly into a laptop or does it have to be a PC?
For virtual desktop that means both the of ur streaming from and the quest would have to be on the same hotspot. Based on speeds that more then likely be a terrible experience. And if the laptop is powerful enough, you can def use it for pcvr
@UrGamingTechie thanks for the reply. If I don't want to game but only have my desktop in VR do I still need a dedicated GPU or can it be any laptop like a Surface Pro?

@@MatadorMediaI found it fiddly until I figured it out but it turned out the instructions for how to point to teleport were lacking.
