Great video, As a kid i was taken down Weevil Lane Gosport to see her when she was the cruising club HQ, she was painted black and yellow. it wasn't till i was 18 that i discovered she had been moved to the boatyard at the bottom of Ferrol Rd. At the time i had been tied with my arms outstretched to two old metal posts, no shirt or jeans on and my underpants were around my feet, covered in loads of raw eggs, flour, syrup and feathers. This was in the grounds of St.Vincent, the posts i was tied to faced the 'Vadne' and the boatyard. i remember guys the same age as me were working on her, they saw me and got me free, i remember they took me into the yard and took me to their wash/rest room. and afterwards i sat and had fish & chips with them that one of them had gone to get, washed down with big mug of tea, afterwards one of them found a pair of overalls for me to go home in as i had no clothes to go home in! 'Vadne' was finally moved from the boatyard and abandoned in the spot she remains today. i left Gosport at 22 never to return.
What a fantastic video! A perspective few if any of us will ever get to see. Does the rig stream a video feed to you as you film? Or you just get as much footage as you can and splice together the best parts? Thank you for sharing for those of us who live far from Gosport these days!
Excellent video, which also offers a rare opportunity to view all the other wrecks at Forton Lake which have been rotting away for several decades now, as it's impossible to get very close to some of them on foot due to the mud. When was the video actually made?
