Hey, first let me say I enjoy watching you two have fun! My trade is HVAC and I'm a Facilities Engineer, before you put the ceiling up you should rethink your venting. Venting multiple tents to one output will not work. Depending on fan sizes, speed at current time, one tent can push air into another and so on... Installing one way dampers would not work well either since it would create pressure for a fan on a lower setting to push against. I would suggest individual exhaust venting to save yourselves headaches. ✌️
Im just in the process of setting up my basement growspace. 2 tents, and this thought crossed my mind. Glad I decided to do a dedicated vent for each
Hey Bryan! I'm in the planning process of a future grow room and you helped a lot with an issue I've been concerned about. Are there any basic "rules of thumb" for venting in a situation like this? For example, something like... every xx square feet of grow space should have a dedicated vent with a minimum fan speed yy and size zz.
Or is it more of an experience type thing where you would just estimate based on what you see?
@matthewhudson7372 Air flow and volume formulas really would be overkill for tents or small rooms. Taking these things into consideration, heat, smell, and having negative air pressure in the tent, my goal is always to vent the least air possible. Wildly blowing all the conditioned air from inside a home to the outside can really impact the bills $$$. Also, minimum air flow will prolong the life of a carbon filter if used in conjunction.
@@bryana1936 Maybe a better question would be what are the downsides to having to little airflow? Smell and temperature?

Something to think about during the winter time you might want to vent it back into the house so you don't suck all the heat out of the house It could help on some of the power bill

That shiplap is really going to pop when y’all install the galvanized roofing material. Love the color y’all chose for the walls too and leaving the stained wood trim was a great idea. It looks waaaay to nice for a grow room. That would have to be the man cave.

Is the water from a well? Its gonna be so convenient having a sink in the grow room for sure I would just run a big ass sprayer reservoir with a pump etc I'm so hype for you guys can't wait to see the gnarly future runs 🤘🏻🤘🏻 love the channel. When are we gonna see some photo runs?
It is well water, this house also has a water softener, haven't tested tap ppm yet, you just reminded me! Pretty sure it was tested when we bought the house tho as part of it and it was within safe levels

It's hard we hit up so many companies over 3 and quotes each for helping in various aspects, most just never even responded after... And really none of it even that major just us doing it would take way longer just to make sure it was right.. we are hoping it's done within 3 weeks being realistic. Then we have to setup and still need to find storage and I need a new desk since I gave mine to my son

Solar PV pannels might be worth looking into, big family, medium sized grow, no power bill would be a bonus.
Solar hot water is soo good here, two pannels 300L always piping hot with no power on overcast cold days. HWC is a very cheap battery

The low outlets and any that are near water lines should be upgraded to GFCI for fire safety.
Good tip! I think we will be ok basement is walkout and house on a hill so water table is lower than outlets, made sure to check for signs of previous flooding or floor water dmg before floors were put in as moisture issues can cause damage to epoxy floors
